It is a good read.
I would say, in the books, Rickon is very young (5/6 at the end of Dance with Dragons). I can't see the main action of the story ending with him much older...I do think Bran will return in the books to be the heir of Winterfell. But if Bran cannot have heirs (it's undetermined in the books) the continuation of the Stark line is going to fall to Rickon, in the future and we'll only know that if GRRM does an epilogue of some sort.

You know if Jon is a Targ , he could be legitimized , by who, Dany? Dany could legitimize him as a Stark. Of course if Stannis had of done it he could have been a Stark and then a Stark - Targaryen!

If it came down to it though, I think a child of Sansa or Arya would take the Stark name. Like Rhaenyra's children would have been King Jacerys/Lucerys/Joffrey Targaryen, rather than Velaryon
