book cersei has no concept of morality imo. its just not something that exists at all in her world. and with her extreme paranoia, she just can't think this way because she thinks everyone is scheming against her. there are a couple of parts in AFFC, where i think her subconscious reveals that she know she's bad imo, but she could never ever actually admit something like that out loud let alone call herself a "monster". she sees herself as the hero of her own story imo and i guess to some extent she is because she does have legit grievances but a lot of her actions are just unforgivable and book cersei could never admit to that imo. yeah i think the walk of shame and myrcella dying made show cersei just go "fuck it now i'm gonna be an even bigger monster that everyone thought i already was". yeah i would ahve loved to see show cersei having the nightmares that book cersei has in AFFC, as well as the walk of shame hallucinations. but i guess i should just be grateful we got a flashblack lol. do you think show cersei will break at all next season? D&D keep saying she's "dead" inside so i don't expect to see much emotion from her, but i also just really want to see her cry harder than she's ever cried before she inevitably destroys the iron throne lol I agree with everything you said lol. I think this year was Cersei embracing the cruelty she's always had inside her. As for next season, I think we will see her as a very cruel and ruthless ruler. Once she finds out Tyrion is coming for her, I'm sure she'll get some pep in her step and focus all her rage at defeating Daenerys. To what extend? I expecting some stupidity behind her actions.

David and Dan and even Lena herself are on the interview circuit. D&D say "so much" of season seven focuses on Cersei and her headspace. A lot of the usual "she's ruthless," "her kids were the only things reining her in," etc.
I'm just glad we know she'll get a lot of attention. After stealing the show on the back half of season six, it's good to know they're gonna keep up that momentum.
