I watched this. So we’ve got demon armies attacking the world, the mages and the Templar people at war with each other, and a demon baby. So basically the humans are too busy hating on each other to face the external threats?

The ending of Mafia 3 was ass. Have you played any of the previous Dragon Age games? Because if not, Inquisition unfortunately is not the best place to start. It assumes you have played its prequels and it picks up more or less exactly where Dragon Age 2 left off. The mere premise of the game is so deeply intertwined with the series' extensive backstory and lore, it's borderline impossible to understand what's going on if you're new to the franchise. For that reason alone, I would recommend you sign up to the Dragon Age Keep ... it will give you a brief video recap and allow you to make some of the more important decisions from the previous games, which can influence the story in Inquisition. I love Inquisition, it's one of my favourite games of all time and I've probably played it more than I've played any other game ever ... but I've also been super invested in Dragon Age lore for like ten years. I'm kind of a walking Dragon Age encyclopedia, so if you have lore related questions, feel free to ask. hm I actually know absolutely nothing about the series, maybe I’ll look for a series recap video or article. And I’ll ofc bother you with any questions that arise 😊

Decided that after I finish Mafia 3 (which is getting boring) I’m gonna play Dragon Age: Inquisition.
I’ve owned it for about 5 years and played it for all of about 20 minutes. I did the same with Witcher 3 (put off playing it for years) and that turned out to be one of my games of all time, so hopefully this goes well.

Halfway thru His Dark Materials.
I knew not to trust Mrs. Coulter and her lip injections the second they showed her. I also guessed that she was Lyra’s mother. So since I’m 2 for 2, I’m gonna also guess she’s a witch. They said witches can separate from their daemons, and they made a point to show that Coulter can do the same.
Otherwise good stuff. I don’t really know what’s going on, but I think that’s the point.

So when I was in high school, I probably played Mafia 2 for about ten million hours. I fucking loved that game.
And I finally bought Mafia 3 after all these years, and I’m enjoying it. The story was always the most ambitious part of Mafia 2, the gameplay was never anything special, and this is more of the same. It’s a very basic third person shooter, but the plot is good. Basically destroying the mob piece by piece.
I’m mostly hyped cause the main character from Mafia 2 is a supporting character in this one

I finished Watchmen today. Really fucking good, really fucking weird. As a self contained story, it was very strong. But it did assume the viewer knew the original story, which I’m sure most didn’t. And as someone who does know the original story, I still found myself a little lost.
HBO announced that a second season is not coming. Fair enough, this worked as a weird little miniseries. But if they’re smart, they would make a prequel miniseries/ movie telling the original graphic novel. In my opinion, Laurie and Adrien were the stand out characters of the show, both of whom were main characters in the original Watchmen, so I think going back and actually telling that story would be good.
And this show was critically acclaimed so I’m sure there’s some sort of incentive to do more with it, even if this particular chapter of the story has been closed (showrunner stepped down).

Dracula got progressively stupider with each episode. I was impressed with the time jump/plot twist tho.
Also that ending was horrible and didn’t make any sense.

Yeah basil, I googled that after I posted and realized the game did apparently explain why they were after Kratos. Obviously I didn’t think they did a very good job at it tho I agree that the self-contained story of the ashes and then bonding was cute and all, but the way the Norse gods were coming at them to create conflict to me felt like set up. There’s a film term (that I can’t remember) about one story taking place for no reason other than to set up/lead into another, and that’s what I think it felt like. Their adventures were just to establish the world and give a tease of what’s to come. Anyways I wanna see more of the actual gods in the next one, and actually be able to play as (a presumably aged up) Atreus.

Finished God of War...it was fun and all. But I feel like the story was unsatisfying because 99% of it felt like exposition for a future game. Like this was all setting up a future series.
Freya was giving me Cersei at the purple wedding vibes (which is always a good thing in my opinion) so I’m interested to see that play out. Also I got the secret ending when Thor comes to their home, so I guess that’ll happen in a future installment. I wanna meet Odin too. They hyped him up to be like...the worst person ever, and I wanna see that play out.
I still don’t know why the Norse goes very fucking with Kratos and the kid, so I guess they’ll answer that too.
Edit: also what the fuck @ Atreus being Loki?! I thought Loki and Thor were brothers (or is that just a marvel comics thing). Either way this game was one big trailer for a sequel.

So god of war is getting to the part where his backstory comes back to haunt him, and I don’t know his backstory at all so I watched this.
So I guess long story short he was a warrior who had beef with the Greek gods and killed them all? Basil you played these games, right? Hopefully I’m not missing anything.
That explains who this ghost of Athena is that’s been following him around lately in the game.
