9. It would have gotten a 10 if the Arya scene hand't been so similar to the one last week.
The rest was perfection.

Thank you! Hallelujah! It really is a miracle! Yeah you guys better start praying for LSH because if she doesn't show up I'm gonna unleash the fury so bad that will make my recaps of Watchers and Mother's Mercy look like high praise

Man, you guys are making me feel like an asshole. I feel like I almost need to bump up my rating or something.
I gave it a 7.
Before anyone shoots me with a crossbow while I'm on the potty, let me just say that there were parts of the episode that I thought were exceptional. I held my breath while Tyrion was with the dragons. I was like, "I swear to the old gods and the new, if they eat him I will personally murder D&D and George." I'm not even a violent guy, but holy seven hells. It made me nervous. So great scene. When he came back and talked to Varys I wanted to laugh at his comment (I did internally), but I was too busy being relieved. Iron Islands was a nice change of pace and scenery. Good character intro and a bit mysterious. Glad Balon didn't go out like a little wuss and at least got his weapon out to do some damage. Starting off with Bran made all my dreams come true. Can't wait for more flashbacks. Seeing Lyanna was killer! I'm glad they made her pretty but seem tough as nails. There was tons of stuff I enjoyed. Like Wun Wun. That scene was outstanding.
The bad: the pacing. There were scenes that just didn't move. There is so much that needs to happen, and I felt like they were just dragging it out. The scene with the Boltons...I knew it was coming and it just felt so meh. And then of course Ramsay is a fucking bastard...a trueborn bastard, but nonetheless a bastard. We get it. It's like they're purposely making us hate him more and more just to keep us hating him so there is this glorious moment when he is killed. Feels overdone to me (great actor though, but they're almost ruining it by making it simply too much). He flays people. He cuts off Theon's penis. He feeds people to his dogs. He rapes Sansa. Rinse and repeat. I get it. He's a fucking prick.
And this isn't going to be popular, but after waiting I don't know how many years to see what happens with our Jon boy: It didn't move me. Sure, the scene was suspenseful, but almost stupidly so. But now I have my answer. And I guess Ghost moving and looking at him to have him wake up means he was warged? Maybe? I guess they left it vague so we would argue about it? Or maybe Ghost just sensed it was him back? Whatever.
Maybe it's the wine speaking and I need to do a rewatch? Maybe I'm just an a-hole? But hell, I'm mad that it felt so slow and then it was suddenly over.
But Tyrion made it worth it for me. Maybe I'll bump it to an 8. An 8 for you Wun Wun! Wait, I lied. I'm stubborn when the wine is on me. 7. As if it matters. You all loved it.

People who usually hate-watch GOT are in love with this episode. Is that good. Disclaimer: this comment doesn't mean people here that don't enjoy the show as much as other members hate-watch GOT

And just going to throw this out there, but just knowing Mel is this nasty old lady...her washing Jon's dead body kind of creeped me out.
She's done some weird crap with demon babies and all that too. So I half expected her to be like, "Maybe if I have sex and mount his corpse it will work," or something gross like that, because she's weird. And then Jon would be like, "Whoa bitch, you're old and disgusting, get off me." THAT would have made me laugh.
Anyway, as hot as that actress is, and as much of a horn dog as I can be, knowing deep down she was a 400 year old nasty witch would really kill the mood.
Must. Stop. Drinking. Wine.
Night folks! I'll rewatch tomorrow so I can take my own review more seriously.

Was the drama at the Wall especially early undo the other fun parts of the episode? I think for me it had that effect, slightly. I wanted to get to the end. Still I though it was an 8 and utterly fantastic.

Hype overload. That was an amazing episode. Probably the best early episode they've ever done. Davos acting like a GOT fan and asking Mel to bring Jon back out of nowhere took me out of it for a brief moment, but then Carice pulled me right back in and all was well in the realm. I actually had no issue with that. Stannis is gone and Jon seems like the only person who could lead the men. And Davos knows Mel can kill people with her magic so him asking if she can bring someone back wasn't as bad as some...other stuff the show has done especially in s5 Man, you guys are making me feel like an asshole. I feel like I almost need to bump up my rating or something.

Don't be worried about not liking something. You can share your opinion and I'm thrilled you are posting again I aree Ramsay is overdone - I felt they shown too much of Theon's torture, Sansa's entire WF storyline was just unnecessary. His scenes this episode were fine because they were in line with character and served some purpose but in the past and the immenient future at least from what the fans are speculating about his scenes are just redundant. We get it. He is evil. I believe it. Only the site that must not be named didn't enjoy the episode. People who usually hate-watch GOT are in love with this episode. Is that good. Unless LSH is not in or someone else takes her part NOTHING can bring s6 below s5 level.

Btw it's got a 9.7 on IMDB with almost 10,000 votes. Which means it might go down a bit still but that makes it the third highest rated episode of the show after Hardhome and the Rains of Castamere. I think it's possible it dips below the Lion and the Rose but still...that's pretty fucking good.

Now this is the Game of Thrones I know and I love!! I have to go with majority on this one, a solid 9. I really enjoyed it, quite well paced, lots of events.
++++++ HOUSE MANDERLY FUCKING CONFIRMED!!! + Bran and Bloodraven's first appearance of the season is excellent! Great to see them and the older Stark generation! ++ Iron islands are back with a bang. The best part of the episode + The Wall, nice to see Tormund and gang returning, surprising that there wasn't a fight. + The resurrection scene. In my opinion these are one of the hardest scenes to shoot in filmography and they nailed it. + Winterfell, Roose fans were probably pretty upset, but it wasn't too farfetched to be honest. Ramsay is batshit crazy after all. Introducing Lord Karstark was great. Finally some depth in the North! + Sansa, Brienne and Theon were great this episode. I still have to question how Theon will reach his homeland. + Meereen was way better than usual. Peter Dinklage is trying his best to carry that storyline! +/- Euron Grejoy makes an epic first appearance. Enjoyed the scene, but Euron's script felt quite weird, he was just spitting out some book quotes that were loosely bounded together by Balon +/- King's Landing, I really enjoyed the acting, but was getting quite boring. Nice to see Robert Strong getting some kills. - Braavos.. it's threatening to get quite boring to be honest, really hope that story line catches wind soo
That's a quick review. I have a feeling that I missed some bits! Good episode with lots of good content!

I know everyone seems to have loved this episode and is hailing it as the best thing since sliced bread, but for me it's a 7 (though it doesn't deserve the same mark as last weeks episode, which also got a 7...I perhaps need to go back and rank 1-10 at the end of the season). I did enjoy the episode, don't get me wrong. I just don't think it was outstanding or anything. The good; Bran's vision. Loved Isaac and Max, and thought the exchange about drowning/home was very moving. Meera's brief scene was fine, Ellie Kendrick is a very talented actress IMO and I hope she gets more screen time. The cave set was also very good, suitably eerie/creepy. Oh, and + points for Lyanna horse riding! Jaime's sept scene. Loved Jonathan Pryce in this, and NCW was very good too. Some strong dialogue actually, which is something that I feel the show is normally a bit weak on. Cersei and Tommen. I hope he goes full on batshit crazy. Like mother like son they can be glorious psychopaths together. Dragon CGI made them look incredible. Gemma Whalen killing it as Asha. I forgot how good she was. Loved the scene between her and Balon. Euron Greyjoy. Promising intro, I imagine the cut Balon gave him comes into play, implicating him in Balon's death Wildling's taking back Castle Black. And Wun Wun playing whack-a-watchmen Brienne/Sansa/Theon. And especially more Theon/Sansa hugging. Hug it out guys, hug it out Mel and Davos' conversation together. Carice and Liam were so good in that scene. The bad; (including some minor nitpick a here too) The child of the forest. I didn't like their look in season 4 (too much kids playing dress up for me) but I also wasn't keen on this look either. This is only a minor nitpick though, as I think I just have an image in my head already and I'm unlikely to ever be satisfied unless there is an exact match Meereen. Ugh, not a fan of this Tyrion stuff at all. Think the dialogue in Meereen is very weak and cliched, and I'm getting tired of Tyrion's lame ass humour. Braavos wasn't bad, but like last episode it just felt a bit boring, and seems just a rehash of last week. Hopefully Arya's story picks up a little now she is no longer begging Brienne's "She was with a man." Girl, you know damn well who that man was and what you did to his ear, don't sugar coat things (Very minor nitpick) How did they find Balon's body? I guess it could have washed up, but judging by that storm not sure it would be recognisable as him. But nvm, is didn't take away from my score of the episode at all) Aegon Greyjoy (assuming that's who the priest is?) was really pretty bad. From what I gather he is only a minor role though, which is fortunate as the actor wasn't very good. Robert Strong head smashing that man, and the man's boasting before hand. First, is RS some kind of homing missile? Ah, whatever, it was only a brief scene, not too bad. Roose's end. Just felt too...easy. This is probably my only criticism influenced by the book (oh, and the CotF I guess) but I just feel like Roose would have been more suspicious and taken precautions against Ramsay. I also dislike the character of Ramsay and would have enjoyed seeing Roose in charge this season far more. Oh well, it is what it is. Jon's resurrection. Just didn't feel very emotional or suspenseful to me. Maybe it's just because of the long wait and speculation (from both the books and the show) but I just found it really dull. I've probably focused more on the negatives there, but like I say I did enjoy the episode. Just, the little things seem to add up and drop the overall score for me.

9. It would have gotten a 10 if the Arya scene hand't been so similar to the one last week. The rest was perfection. Don't get why they weren't just in the same episode, or at least we got to see her reentry and next task in the same episode as this scene. Would have massively improved the pacing.
