Some of the scene was Carice in six hours worth of prosthetics and makeup some of it was an elderly body double.

I imagine they only did her face and neck in prosthetics and the body was shot separately. I wonder if carice was wearing a green suit and they cgi'd her face onto the body. It looked pretty legit and you could definitely tell it was carice's aged up face. Bet she had fun with selfies.

so unless she's lying (which is possible), this is the only time we'll see the real Melisandre. At least in season 6.

Well by using a real life 80 year old woman for the body, they just shocked the shit out of about 90% of the show's youthful viewers who have no idea what Grandma looks like under those floral cardigans and culottes she wears ... :lol3:

Gotta hand it to the body double, she's one brave old lady but then she didn't have to get nakey for hundreds of extras the way Lena's body double did! :shocked:
