Interesting...when reading the books I assumed Doran was the one planning a secret coup on KL. On the show, the Sand Snakes and Ellaria have pulled off a coup in Dorne and look to be up to the same for KL.

I can just see the memes and bad pussy jokes incoming from here! It doesn't look like any of them will be sitting on the council in the show version, does it ... I highly doubt Cersei's going to let anyone sit on her council right now unless Kevan has banished her. We still don't know what he's up to yet either.

On the making sense of Dorne front, this is quite good. A surprising not-quite-a-defence from BryndenBFish.

"The Bad Pussy" has become slang around my house for anything lame and ridiculous. The Dorne plot was an actual secret plot in the books. Everything is all out in the open on the show. Jaime even pretty much admitted to Ellaria that Tommen is a bastard. He'd be screwed if recording devices were invented.

This is helpful too btw. I noticed this watching through the first time but my mum didn't, so it's worth clearing things up. It has been pissing me off to no end when people think it's ridiculous that he found it. OF COURSE HE'S GONNA OBSERVE THE GIANT CIRCLE OF DEAD GRASS AND DIRT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, ANY NORMAL HUMAN WOULD

But Tyene is in Dorne with Ellaria and with Obara and Nym in KL she will probably stay where she is, otherwise Ellaria won't have anyone to share scenes with. If someone is going to pretend to be a septa in the show, it will probably be Nym. Besides, show Tyene is not a septa's daughter, so she probably doesn't know much about the Faith.

I bet people complaining about this had no problem with Aragorn finding Pippin's brooch in TTT.

I bet people complaining about this had no problem with Aragorn finding Pippin's brooch in TTT. So long as it's written in a book...

Yeah, that's because the Dornish are depicted as extremely passionate and hot-tempered. That's what I meant with shallow characterization, but that's a book!problem, too. All the SS want in the books is revenge for Oberyn. They're as stupid and as cringey in the books too. I didn't like Dorne in the books either, but at least it had Arianne. They should've included the Queenmaker plot. But I guess they wanted to show Oberyn's "badass" daughters. I don't think it is so much about "wanting" the Sand Snakes, but about the Sand Snakes impacting the story in ways that are harder to replace, because of the different directions they go. Arianne had a POV and was a Princess and this seems to have led many people to erroneously believe she will play a big role. I am quite sure her role in the end will be not so different from Quentyn's. With the exception of course that she gave us our window on Dorne. Arianne's mission is going to fail, in large part because Aegon wants to marry Dany and is jerking her around. And then she is going to die. The SS you don't need to like but they are there for a purpose which is sabbotage. They will impact other storylines, not just Dorne's as might Darkstar.

On one of the Sand Snakes getting back to Sunspear to kill Doran and Trystane: probably not necessary. Elia's younger sisters are all still there, as is Elaria. The show seems to have completely altered Elaria's personality and priorities, but on the other hand maybe not. It is at least possible she has said the things she has said in order to gain Doran's trust and stay close. Watching Elia, her daughter, will IMO tell us something about her mother's goals.

There's a big ass field next to my building and if I walked outside one day and there was a giant circle of trodden grass and dirt I'd be like the fuck is this lemme investigate

They just happen to find the exact area where Dothraki took her?

I don't think anyone had a problem with Jorah inspecting the strange circle in the grass, but rather with the fact that they just randomly stumbled across the exact spot where Dany was abducted, on a random field in the middle of nowhere. The odds of them finding the place are rather small, I think, assuming that Drogon has carried Dany far away from Meereen.
It's certainly not ridiculous and I really don't have any problems with that scene personally, but the criticism is not completely unreasonable.

They knew Drogon flew North from Meereen and so that's the track they were going to follow as they stated in the S5 finale.
Daario knows the area, they came upon the charred Drogon food along the way, so they more or less had a path to follow. And the implication is that they've been searching for a while, given what we see of Tyrion and Varys in Meereen, some time has elapsed since the S5 finale.
I'm not sure why this would be such a leap of logic. They followed the general path of her exit, followed the dragon food clues and eventually came across a massive area where the Dothraki had torn shit up. How else do you think people find other people in Westeros/Essos when they're hunting for them?

JFC can't I find the power duo riding in the big field and finding bread crumbs funny?

Were people annoyed when she dropped the ring at the end of last season? I mean, come on, we knew that's what that was for. That Dothraki grass circle is ginormous. I think this is a highly silly thing to critique.
If we're critiquing coincidences that make no sense, we should be asking how the hell Brienne and Pod stumbled on Theon and Sansa...wasn't Brienne just wandering the woods without Pod, killerating Stannis?
