Those dragons get awfully big I know the contracts went out for 7 even if HBO has not 'green lighted' it yet, which must a hinging chad right now. I thought it interesting that Lombardo says no split 7. D&D would agree to a 7a and 7b and not to an 8? I guess HBO could get other showrunners! Hmm... 2018 would that give George enough time to finish Dream of Spring!

I'm surprised they aren't just doing an extended final season. It would make contract re-negotiations a lot less painful.

I'm surprised they aren't just doing an extended final season. It would make contract re-negotiations a lot less painful. It could be, but I am thinking for Thrones right now they are probably doing better box office than any other show they have had. So even cast asking for big bucks can be accommodated. It is interesting about that... suppose back when 7 was renegotiated did A tier actor's agents anticipate this? If you die in 6 I guess you are screwed. But any cast who meet their demise in 7 could of asked for a share of season 8 they would not know their fate in 8. Hmmmmm....... Any new cast for 7 may have their knives sharpened.
