The Last Kingdom premiered on Saturday on BBC America. The second episode was also available on demand. Anyone watch them yet?

Apparently the budget is around $10 for the season. GoT is around that per episode now. Pretty crazy.

The shield wall scenes in episode one were amazing. Better than anything Vikings did until the siege of Paris in season 3.

What is it with loads of programmes killing off a high profile actor in the first episode. I mean it makes sense, draws people in and don't have to splash out too much for them, but it's become a trope by now. Episode was great though.

Nah the first episode hasn't even aired over here yet but I got impatient and streamed it just now. Will watch episode 2 tomorrow if I can.

I wasn't expecting Mr. Darcy and other Ragnar to both die in the premiere, but the Saxon lord was an asshole and other Ragnar went out like a badass fighting people while on fire.

It was Matthew Macfadyen I meant really, yeah, although Rutger Hauer is a fairly big name to go out first up so they kinda doubled up on it.

Rutger Hauer is someone I'd expect more for stunt casting for some reason, so I wasn't too surprised with him. Mr Darcy I expected to have a longer role.

Great show! They are moving incredibly fast with the story. Are they trying to cover the whole series in one season?
Anyway, when is the next episode due?
