Slow day today...
What do you think Varys, Tyrion and Missandei are filming in Peniscola. We saw some outside set pictures that looked like a public stage/execution area.
Could they possibly be hanging/burning someone for sons of harpy attacks? with the help of kinvara they might have found who was responsible..

We know they are at least filming the Siege of Meereen and I think Kinvara will definitely help Tyrion and Varys regain the love of common people and the slaves by convincing them that Dany is their savior. They could be publicly executing a few of the Harpies who were responsible for the attacks at Daznak's, perhaps investigating the prostitute who was working for them. If Daario is the harpy in the show, which I think he might be, this could change.

What would he stand to gain by involving himself in something like that?

In 5x02, when Daario and Grey Worm go to investigate the guy's house, Daario knew where the guy was hiding and then told the council he was the one who interrogated him. In 5x07, he tells Dany to marry him instead of Hizdahr, which I think shows that he wants to have control over her and her dragons. He even tells Dany to murder all of the masters and nobleman during Daznak's, which she refuses to do and it happens behind her back. Idk, there is some evidence, but the Harpies could really just have a hierarchy instead of one leader.

I think extending it to 8 seasons has stuffed them up in terms of how they planned the progression of storylines.

I know, I thought it was cut too with Barristan gone , but I guess they need something for Tyrion and Varys to do besides having deep conversations with Kinvara. I assume they'll set it up sometime early in the season that Yunkai is coming now that Meereen is more vulnerable without Dany there and then she'll show up sometime during the siege.

I really don't think there is going to be a siege there. It's supposed to be a granary and I don't think that thing is a catapult either.

I mean there could be one later but I don't think this particular scene in the plaza is going have any siege action going on. Hopefully we'll find out in the next couple of days.

Maybe I'm blinded by his good looks, but I think it only confuses the story if the Sons of the Harpy aren't run by a Meereenese native. Hierarchy really makes more sense to me.

I would be very surprised if Daario is the Harpy.
Plus, Michiel Huisman is too damn beautiful to be a bad guy.

Yes i always thought the harpy was a woman in the books In the books, it's probably Green Grace and in the show the prostitute in Meereen wore green and worked with The Harpies.

Yeah they won't film tomorrow if it's raining or everything's wet - so we may have to wait out the weekend trying to figure out if there's a siege or what's going to happen in Meereen. I hope those guys who traveled there to try and get the scoop will stay the weekend and snap some photos! As for the change to the story, I'm wondering if D&D didn't also end up with a "Meerenese Knot" problem too. Maybe they originally wrote out the siege and then changed their minds because of the extended seasons which now throws off the timing for Dany to go to Westeros? I'm really quite disappointed we may not see her board ships to head there until the end of the season now. Putting a siege into it would definitely help delay at least an episode or two on the timeline but it sucks because like all of you, I have a hunch that's where Ser Barristan meets his end in the books. They cheated him out of his proper hero's death if this is what ends up happening. The debate about Daario being in league with the harpies has always been a tough one. Book Daario I hate a lot more and not just because he's described so much differently and I'm in love with Michiel Huisman (but hey it helps haha). But show Daario has not really portrayed himself as quite the backstabbing rogue we all think he's capable of. I do like the plot points you outlined as possible evidence though @alcasinoroyale - it does lend some questionable doubt to it. My problem is I always assumed it was Hizdar involved - and yet the Harpies killed him straight away in the Daznak's scene. In fact it was that moment of the scene that I felt like maybe Daario doesn't know what's going on for sure. Remember that moment where Hizdar said "Your Grace, I know a way out!" and then gets stabbed? Daario was looking at him suspiciously and then got a wide eyed second look there when the Harpy stabbed him. I've watched it so many times (because that's my ultimate favorite scene in the whole show so far when Dany flies on Drogon - it makes me cry). I'm almost positive Daario did not know that was going to happen nor did he plan it.
