With all the rope bridge filming in NI, I'm pretty sure Balon's still around and we'll get him tumbling down. I imagine they'll give Malahide a scene or two beforehand too, just so the gig isn't TOO thankless. I really don't see the return to the Iron Islands and the Riverlands some sort of "they're biding their time now that there's eight seasons" kind of deal. They couldn't be put in earlier feasibly because of how many subplots had stacked up. Now there's more room for them. And these are plots that are only really set up in AFFC but will take of in TWOW, so I still see it as us largely moving into TWOW territory in s6 anyhow. They were always going to return to both places though. We knew from David Bradley that he'd been promised that he'd come back for the retribution against the Freys...which we're getting in s6. And we knew from Bryan Cogman's interviews after ep. 406 that Yara would show up again prominently. And Euron will be a big deal. I'm pretty sure the Boltons and Freys will die in s6, so besides Cersei and LF, he'll be the next "big bad" for s7 and maybe even s8. And he's a pretty cool one at that, particularly with his Faceless Men and Warlock connections which could potentially point to a pretty nasty supernatural group of strange bedfellows. And yes, I do think he'll get a dragon at some point... and if I may be so bold, maybe the actor being younger has to do something with his compatibility with the dragons' mother... Anyhow...He wasn't in AFFC much and wasn't in ADWD at all but in TWOW and maybe even ADOS depending on how long he lasts, I think he'll be very important. Also Theon returning to the Iron Islands isn't just so there's a familiar viewpoint there. Alfie wasn't at the Kingsmoot shoot according to WOTW's info, so that means he moves in there later. Which is in keeping with what I imagine will happen in TWOW. In ADWD Asha wanted to contest Euron's victory at the Kingsmoot by bringing up Theon's claim. Now that they've reunited in the books I think it's likely she'll try to spirit him back to the Iron Islands when Stannis is defeated by the Boltons and she and him escape. In the show the circumstances of Theon's return to the Iron Islands will have to be different with Yara not in the vicinity of course but still, the timing and the purpose of his return will be the same. I think he'll stay in the North in the show until the Boltons are defeated and then he'll head home, potentially at Sansa or LF's urging. Like Kingsmoot isn't valid because one of the sons is missing? IIRC that happened once. I'd imagine Damphair (now that there's a chance he's in) would like to use Theon to remove Crow's Eye. Do you guys believe in Euron molested Aeron theory? IMO it is very convincing. I buy into that theory because of Euron being the creepy fuck that he is. The hinge thing sort of "sold" me on it.

I recently read a theory that Euron was practicing as a Bloodraven apprentice by warging into Aeron, but then it got into the Euron as Dusky Woman theory which is where things get too weird for me.

So presumably at the start of season 6, Balon, Aeron, and Yara are in the Iron Islands, and then Balon dies and Aeron and Yara are unable to prevent Euron from taking over. Then Euron and Yara and the Iron Island fleet sail off, leaving Aeron at home. Then Theon somehow reunites with Aeron, who wants to use him to get rid of Euron? Or maybe Euron and Yara take Aeron with them, and then they meet up with Theon and they all sail to Dany together?
I'm very confused how Theon gets back to the Iron Islands. Sansa doesn't seem to be going off the grid - she'll be interacting with northern lords and Littlefinger. And Theon knows he won't have a warm welcome from Iron Islanders, especially not after Ramsay mailed them his genitals. But maybe Theon becomes an agent working for Bran somehow? Maybe Bran and Bloodraven have a plan that requires a fleet, and they try to send Theon to take over the Iron Islands from Euron? Theon and Aeron join in religious fervor to fight the army of the dead?
Or maybe Littlefinger gives Theon a really good pep talk and sends him with a small army to take the Iron Islands over.

There will be a Kingsmoot in Episode 5 or 6. I hope LF doesn't give any talks to Theon.

I think the idea of adding a 8th season might be triggering all these "return to AFFC" subplots. Yep, this is what I think may be happening as well. They may have had an idea of extra season(s) back in Season 4 and decided to hold off on a lot of what it looks like we'll be getting in s6 for Ironborn as well as a lot of the missing Riverlands stuff. Hype can definitely commence for Cleganebowl, LSH, RW 2.0, Frey Pies and whatever the fuck else you want to hype, LOL!

There is no way he'd win the thing - he can barely string two sentences together at this point. I really don't understand how he gets thrown back into the iron islands plot. It doesn't seem like he even wants to be an Iron Islander anymore and he'd want to stay with Sansa now and try to serve her. And for all of his faults, Sansa doesn't have a better companion. Maybe Sansa sends him away and Theon limps back to the Iron Islands to plead the mercies of his sister. I do still like the idea of Theon becoming an agent of Bloodraven/Bran against the Whitewalkers. I want to see Bran moving some pieces on the board rather than just hanging out having visions all season. And maybe Theon merges with Patchface and is part of whatever is about to go down with the dead things in the water coming at the Wall. It would be strange indeed if Theon ended up meeting Tyrion in Essos. They've both changed so much since their first meeting.

But I like the idea of him being some kind of agent.

I wasn't expecting Theon to return to the Iron Islands, but I was also wondering how long he could travel with Sansa since any other Northerners/Stark sympathizers would probably still want him dead. So, in a way, it makes sense to me, and maybe he will get back there in Winds.

If Theon shows his face anywhere around other Northerners, he's a dead man, even IF Sansa defends him about Bran and Rickon, he still betrayed the Starks and took Winterfell and let's never forget the beloved Stark household supporters he killed (at least on the show) like Ser Rodrik. They won't let him live no matter how much he's helped Sansa is my guess so he'll need to leave her and go elsewhere. Maybe Sansa urges him to leave before he's captured by the Northerners and put things right with the Ironborn and Starks which I doubt he can do with Euron showing up on the scene.

Interesting. He says: Not a show I would have normally been drawn to, maybe I can fill some boring winter months watching it to see what all the praise is about! And as to why Euron's casting was ever leaked in the first place (proving they are trying to keep all of it under wraps): So it's obvious they're enacting the Kingsmoot and he won.

Someone translated it on Reddit: Q: Is Jon Snow dead?... Game of thrones. A: I have no idea, whatsoever. Q: How was your reaction, when you were offered a role in GOT? A: I thought: "Fuck Yeah, man, I'm Euron Greyjoy, ironborn." Q: Do you have a sexscene in GOT? A: I wish. Q: Are you paid to keep your beard like that[2] ? A: (Giggles) Nope, it's free. Q: Do you kill Reek? A: (Confused) Reek?... No.
