I just feel like Negan is not an entertaining villain to watch (like Tywin for example. I hate Tywin but he was entertaining)...in the hands of better writers, maybe he could have been (and JDM is doing the best he can). But if Negan and friends lose the All Out War, how do they justify keeping him around? How can all these factions get along when some have been betrayed by the others and just about everyone (except GPK) hates Negan. I'm really hoping that when she said he's important later she meant in the "all out war" that's coming. If that fucker lives after the war, it better be as Shiva's pet, on a leash, wearing nothing but a diaper and a bonnet.I may have said this before...I think the problem is that when introducing iconic villains from the comics, they can't figure out how to fit them in. The villains in the comics are...comical. They are larger than life and not believable in the flesh, not even in a zombie apocalypse. Everything else about the TV show is realistic and relatable, so it seems like this is what life could really be like if there were some kind of near-extinction event. But it's hard to ever imagine a Negan or a Governor, as they were in the comics, in real life. It's a tone mismatch. Dear Walking Dead Writers, please hire Witchy so we can have this plot line. I want this more than life. I think you make a good point about the villains---if they are larger than life in the comics and the show is playing a realistic tone, the villains are a tone mismatch.

Rewatching Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 in preparation for the new season starting next week - I forgot how much more I prefer FTWD over the original show now; I still haven't watched any episodes past the Lucille reveal. That being said, I do miss Carol lol

Melissa Mc Bride is just lovely.
Also TWD cast did a video on FB live where they thanked fans for their support since this upcoming season they will hit a 100 episode milestone.

I watched a few random episodes from some of the earlier seasons tonight. This show may be shit now, but man ... I remembered why I used to love it so much. Lori's death especially is so goddamn effective still, it absolutely killed me. I honestly did not expect it to still hit me so hard after so many years, I cried my eyes out. And I know Lori was not the best written character on the show, but a scene like this really makes you forget about all the inconsistencies and the bad writing, the acting was so good and it's just such a grim, gut wrenching scene. Incredibly powerful stuff. I'm lamenting the show The Walking Dead used to be. What the fuck happened to it? It's lost its soul.

Great question. The cast spends most of their time apart on the show and it just goes from one event to another.

Did anyone watch last night?
It wasn't bad. Got a little confused with some events.
There seems to be distant future Rick that likes Weird Al songs (which if true, I am so down with Future Rick), kind of in the future red eyed Rick who may or may not be on a drug trip??? and then present day, I'm a kill you Negan Rick.
Gregory can choke for all I care.

So what does everyone think of the possible spoiler floating around right now? The Carl is going to be the big death in Episode 8/9?

So what does everyone think of the possible spoiler floating around right now? The Carl is going to be the big death in Episode 8/9? Thoughts under spoilers... I've seen that going around. It would be a HUGE shock because I thought, next to Rick and Michonne, Carl was untouchable. If it's true, I am sorry it got out because it would be bigger shocker then Negan killing Glenn and Abraham. The other part of me thinks, the show better have a great follow up to this should they do it. I'd rather not have Carl die. But at the same time, we're coming to the point where some believed to be untouchables are gonna go and I won't be surprised as actors contracts expire, some are going to choose not to come back. Not saying this is the case with Chandler Riggs, but I almost expect Danai Gurira to do this since her career is going from strength to strength. What do you think?

Not saying this is the case with Chandler Riggs, but I almost expect Danai Gurira to do this since her career is going from strength to strength. What do you think? I'm never sorry that filming spoilers get out because I love them. If the rumors are true, Chandler Riggs didn't reup his contract and may or may not have asked to leave, so it's honoring his wishes. Character wise, I think it's a huge mistake because the best ending to Rick's story is Carl taking over from him. Carl dying is losing a part of Rick that I don't think he'll ever get back. And if Negan continues to live after this, I will have an even harder time accepting it. The thing that annoys me the most is I imagine Scott Gimple will try to say he planned it all along and "planted seeds" when I know that won't be true. I always say this show is too predictable, but this is the first death since Andrea that legitimately surprised me.

day dreamer, I have a love/hate relationship with spoilers..LOL...I love reading them but then sometimes I wish I hadn't. I agree that this would be the most surprising death since Andrea. I would hope that it is revealed that it was Chandler's decision to leave, because then it doesn't seem like such a mistake. If it is something Gimple decided, then I really think the death is for shock value and not to further the plot along. As for Negan, I think they pat themselves on the back too much with Negan, I am sure he'll live :eye roll: If Carl does die, I would hope he takes Negan with him. I really do think this show should be laying down the ground work for an ending.

This is the same showrunner that forces comic stories to fit even when they dont (like Carol getting part of Michonne's story) it has to be Chandler.

Good point, day dreamer, Gimple does not stray from the comic like that. And it's not like this show can send Carl off to college or replace him with new Carl like Roseanne did with Becky.

Episode 3 was better then episode 2. on Talking Dead, they were like do you like more violent Daryl? And I was like, right now, the only one with half a brain is Daryl. But ok. I knew Eric was gonna be a goner but that scene with Aaron and Eric's good bye and Aaron watching zombie Eric walk away were heartbreaking. The scene with Gregory begging to get back into Hilltop, well acted. Maggie telling Jesus why did you bring us POW's, for realz was pretty good. They really, really need to give Jesus a plot besides cool fight scenes. Morgan is losing his shit. So much for Ezekiel's not one person killed.

Episode 4 was okay. All Out War is taking too damn long. Where's Michonne? This was a stand out episode for Khary Payton NOOO SHIVA. Like that tiger couldn't have handled all them zombies, though.

Man i'm getting bored with this season.
This is just beyond a joke now....7 episodes on a war that started in episode 1 and STILL hasn't been resolved. How much longer are they going to drag it out?
I'm only watching this for an endless supply of Sweaty!Rick

I'm only watching this for an endless supply of Sweaty!Rick They'll never run out of Sweaty!Rick. How come he sweats buckets and no one else does? The acting on this show can be so good (Josh Mc Dermott in the last episode, the last scene between Michonne and Daryl) but the writing so inane? Why the fart would Rick even trust Jadis & the trash people? By the way, how did jadis forget proper English so fast? Why is Negan using restraint to find out who the mole is? Jeez, he killed the Sanctuary's own doctor for LESS. You'd think he'd take a bat to Eugene and Dwight and be done with it. Is the show trying to tell me that Father Gabe purposely got caught to get Doc Carson back? How did he get so sick? Why are they re-treading Morgan's old plot with Jesus?

I stopped watching halfway through Season 7. It feels good. I still occasionally check the Walking Dead wiki to find out if any of the main characters has died, but that's about it. In my heart, I want to love this show so bad, but I can't remember the last time I was able to sit through an entire episode without fast forwarding.

In my heart, I want to love this show so bad, but I can't remember the last time I was able to sit through an entire episode without fast forwarding. it's sad because the writing lets the acting down on this show so many times. I'm not at the point of giving up yet but damn, the show is getting harder and harder to watch. If I didn't like the actors so much, I'd be gone probably.
