Hello. I'm very excited about joining this community. I posted few times at AFOIAF, but they banned me for no reason. I'm little bit shy, but I'm sure it's going to be great getting to know all of you! I didn't do anything! It was all Rory's fault! He posted that nasty fanfic of Lindaario and Elio burning people and killing Stephen Dillane! I just said that it was great.

Shit, I never introduced myself either. Hello, I'm Alex from New Jersey and I've been a huge fan of the show since the beginning, but I didn't start reading the books until after Season 2 ended. I also enjoy watching movies and TV and currently I'm studying Journalism and Film Studies at University. I didn't join any online forums for ASOIAF until Season 4 aired, because beforehand I wasn't following discussions and news as much, but I think now you could tell that I'm obsessed and addicted to spoilers. This has probably become one of my favorite places on the Internet and yes we do have some drunk people occasionally. Hopefully the new members will find that this place to be quite entertaining and I'm looking forward to discussing the upcoming season and whatever else with you guys. Are you me?

We hope you will like it here, GoT + books talk is a bit slow, it all depends how many shooting news we get, but the community is very friendly so we hope you can always find something interesting here And big shout out to Al for recruiting new members!

Guess I should introduce myself since I've been here a week or so. : (Thanks to alcasinoroyale for the invite!) You might see me occasionally posting at Westeros as Aint Nuthin But A HoundDog and as you can guess I'm a huge Sandor fan. Am I the oldest person here? Gulp. I'm almost 44. Married with a kid and a house full of dogs (pound puppies). I work in public relations for the tourism industry and before that I was a reporter and copy editor for a couple of different newspapers. My hobbies are camping, flat water kayaking and trail running. Also do a little kickboxing and Krav Maga. My other loves are craft beer, good coffee and reading -- mostly detective novels but also some fantasy, horror and nonfiction (science, history, travel and whatnot). We ditched our cable service awhile back so I don't watch much TV other than the occasional series on Netflix or HBO Online. (Currently the only show I'm watching is "Ripper Street" and I'll probably pick up season 2 of "Broadchurch" after that.) I'm a fan of ASOIAF books and the show both. I think they're both outstanding in their own right. The Hound and Bronn are my two favorite supporting characters and I also am a fan of the actors who portray them. (If you find any hot pics of Rory feel free to send them my way. *ahem*) Of the main cast I'd say I love Jon, Arya and Tyrion the most.

Maybe that's why us journalists love him?

Hello,
My name's Peter and I'll be 40 soon and am from the south coast of England, I've also been ProBoarding (Admin and as a members of forums) since 2002.
I didn't discover Game of thrones until and I hadn't read any of the book and still haven't - yep one of those people I'm afraid. I think, at the time the fourth series was about to start and they had a marathon from the beginning on Sky Atlantic on, so I decided to give it ago in prep for season for. A couple of episodes into the first series was all it took before I got hooked as the writing has been so good. I loved it instantly. I even started watching this after show on Sky Atlantic straight after. I was also amazed by the great cast some of who I knew (Sean Bean,Lena Heady, Jerome Flynn, Hannah Murray, Joe Dempsie) but many I didn't yet I was very impressed they had the likes of Charles Dance on there for a while, Diana Rigg etc. Just adding a great legacy to the show.

oh i never did this!
ok i'm a 20 year old from NY. Currently a college student. I started out as a very casual GOT fan. watched Season 1 when Season 2 was about to air and then watched Season 2 and completely forgot that GOT even existed lol. until i stumbled on the season 3 trailer on the internet, and that renewed my interest. and I decided to read the books to kind of prepare for Season 3. Over the last couple of years, I've become kind of obsessed although my interest is waning now because how long its taking for TWOW to come out. i've become a little disillusioned with the show, although i certainly dont hate it like a lot of the other book readers. and i am looking forward to season 6. i'm planning on doing a reread of the books soon, because I think that will help me enjoy the good parts of season 6 more, and i'll just mostly ignore the flaws lol.
as far as other things, i like to watch tv, read, listen to music. i'm also obsessed with makeup and beauty in general

When I started watching season 4 I already knew about Joffrey because of spoiler headlines, but I hadn't started watching it yet so I wasn't too bothered not having been invested in the character (Or any yet) at that point. So far I've just not read a single thing for season 6, I'd rather be surprised!

Hello!
I am a show fan and a book fan. I am not generally in to fantasy and would never have read the books without first having been hooked on the show, but I am glad I did read them. They are very possibly the most richly detailed books I have ever read with so many layers to pick apart that it can become quite obsessive. I look forward to discussions on both versions here.
