Not bad - I work in the city and live just right outside it so I take the T to and fro. It's nice, I wouldn't want to live right in the city because of the complete lack of space but I like living close enough. The T is a gift from the gods. Driving in Boston is so ridiculous sometimes, I almost exclusively use the T. Plus I live about 5 minutes away from Oak Grove so that makes life easier. I live by the Red Line, Cambridge side. I love the T but this past winter it was the devil. I have never had such a nightmarish commute in all my year's taking the T. You never knew what was working and what wasn't. Unfortunately for me, three days out of the week I work by the Green Line. As I'm sure you're well aware the Green Line can be unreliable in the best of weather, what happened this past winter was crazy, it was just as likely to be working as it wasn't.

I used to live near the Central Square stop on the red line.

Oh god, yeah I heard terrible things. I go to UMass Amherst, so luckily I wasn't here for the winter from hell (ours was slightly easier actually!) but my sister does winter track and my mom often told me how horrible it was to get to the Reggie Lewis center. A couple of our friends had a test at the end of the school day and had to drive themselves their to get to a meet and it took them THREE HOURS for what should have been 20 minutes! Another less terrible story is last summer my dad and I went to a Sox game and Kenmore was of course loaded when we had to head home, but they had jacked up the Charlie Card price while I was at school so he got through and I didn't have enough money, so I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get a new card.

Okay, now this is getting ridiculous. I'm an alumna of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Go! Go U! Go UMass! GO UMAS! Minutemen 4-evah! For most of my time there I lived in Sylvan (McNamara and Brown), spent a semester in Central and I hated it. I lost so much time during the winter that I'd rather not think about it. As for the Charlie Card issue, I always have an extra card in my purse just in case I leave my card home or lose it. It's come in handy quite a few times. Hahaha! OMG - what a coincidence. Do you still live in Boston? Nope, I only lived there for a couple years and moved to Austin in 2001. Austin is cool, but I miss Boston, especially the T. That's funny I went to a conference in San Antonio earlier this year and stopped by Austin but I wasn't able to spent any time there. I herd it's a cool city but I personally can't survive without good public transportation. I don't drive, so for me it's a necessity.

Hi everyone, I was looking for an introductions topic, and looks like I finally found it! So, here comes the newbie. Name's Ivan, 23, from the glorious land of Pizza, uh, i meant Milano, Italy. I've been following Sati's recaps for almost two solid years after stumbling upon them, so that's where the knowledge of this board existence comes from. I lurked a bit before posting my first message here and this seems like my dream community, so Read the books, following the show, loving both of them. I like them movies, but that's not really interesting since I guess everyone does (rofl) Also videogames, good quality animation and of course reading like there's no tomorrow. In my spare time from all these fundamental activities, I'm trying to get through my Psychology studies while working part time in a library owned by a Roose lookalike, so working is pretty stressful, yeah. I share my apartment with three really fat cats and an Unsullied girlfriend. I am one of those fools who still believes LS will appear in 2 weeks. [insert "f*uck me, right?" meme here]

I'm Bec from Australia. i started watching Game of Thrones, then got so obsessed i read all the books. i lurked on AFOIAF, then made an account, now i'm here.
I love movies and TV. I also love science, and studied neuroscience at University.
I love this place, so welcome new members! Hopefully the threads pickup a bit more when the season starts again. But we do have a lot of activity for the off season!

Shit, I never introduced myself either.
Hello, I'm Alex from New Jersey and I've been a huge fan of the show since the beginning, but I didn't start reading the books until after Season 2 ended. I also enjoy watching movies and TV and currently I'm studying Journalism and Film Studies at University. I didn't join any online forums for ASOIAF until Season 4 aired, because beforehand I wasn't following discussions and news as much, but I think now you could tell that I'm obsessed and addicted to spoilers.
This has probably become one of my favorite places on the Internet and yes we do have some drunk people occasionally. Hopefully the new members will find that this place to be quite entertaining and I'm looking forward to discussing the upcoming season and whatever else with you guys.

Hello. I'm very excited about joining this community. I posted few times at AFOIAF, but they banned me for no reason. I'm little bit shy, but I'm sure it's going to be great getting to know all of you!
