There's always the option of introducing Euron by having him show up in the HOBAW too.

They have to address most the cliffhangers from 5x10 in 6x01. I think they have to check in with Jon/Melissandre, Sansa & Theon, Brienne, and they have to update us on what is going on in Kings Landing. The dragons becoming unchained would be a really cool way to end the episode. Arya and Dany also had cliffhangers but weren't in imminent danger of dying and I could see one of them sitting out of the premiere. If they don't introduce Euron in the first scene, maybe it would make more sense to wait for the second episode to bring him in and just spend the premiere wrapping up cliffhangers and setting up season arcs. Dorne wasn't in the premiere, so I could see them skipping Euron in 601.

I think we'll see Meereen, The Dothraki Sea, KL, Braavos, and Winterfell and maybe The Wall in the premiere. Oldtown, The Riverlands, and the Iron Islands could be put off until the 2nd or 3rd episode.
And I wonder if they'll do a flashback as the opening scene again or have a cold open.

I guess the followup for Sansa and Theon's jump or Jon's stabbing would make for a good cold open. I know there wasn't one for s5 but I think it'd fit well here to start the premiere off with a sense of the momentum we were left with in ep. 510.

I hope Bran is in the first episode. I assume they'll follow up on Jon, Dany, Sansa and Theon. Arya will probably sit out ep 1 like she has the past few seasons.

I could actually see this episode either opening with Balon's death as cold open or with Bran looking into the past, present and future. This way they could do a montage summarizing the most important storylines.

First scene is aftermath of Jon's stabbing.

So now we know Jeremy Podeswa's directing the episode, so I'd say it's in good hands. He did a very good job with the WF and CB storylines in his two s5 eps, so the followup for the two of them should start off well.

First scene is aftermath of Jon's stabbing. And the last will be his resurrection. (I see them getting this out of the way quickly)

I think the cold open will be Balon Greyjoy falling off a bridge.
