I actually dislike Aslaug. IMO Ragnar had every right to be mad at Aslaug because she didn't look after her children and let their friend die. Of course there was no way she could've known about it, but still it counts. Also I dislike her general bitching back from Season 2. Yeh but he was like ignoring her before this happened. i was mad at her by being tempted be the wanderer but i got the feeling she just needed a little bit of love. shes a person not a robot nanny. Ragnar doesn't have to look after the kids all the time because he is always away so he can't really say anything. the kids were looked after, they just ran away from siggy. I think it was her fate to save them and drown in the ice. I'm pretty sure that Harbard somehow killed her. Remember him being there in the lake?

Remember him being there in the lake? i think because harbard was supposed to be odin, she saw him when she got out of the lake? i'm not sure Her dead daughter was also there, so I think she was choosing to let go and join her own kids like Harbard said. (Though I'm not sure the whole family would qualify for Valhalla, but whatever.) I do think Harbard was maybe doing something to the two boys to get them out on the ice, they acted like they were in a trance or something. I thought Ragnar's response was annoying because he didn't even care much that their friend and his brother's live-in gf had been killed, he was just mad that Aslaug needed a babysitter.

I still have to catch up with season 3. But this show got so, so good on season 2, it's impressive to see the development it got compared to season 2. Can't wait to start the third one. Has the fourth season been confirmed?

How does this compare to GoT? I'm trying to get my wife to watch some more fantasy/hisory/medieval TV with me. This and Rome are on the "try to convince her will be awesome" list...

For a standard channel show, its just as good as GoT. HBO obviously has the ability to do more with more money and get away with more with less regulations, but Vikings is just as entertaining to watch most of the time. It has its weak moments, but every show does. Definitely worth a watch, especially once you get to seasons 2 and 3.

Excited for the deaths of Kalf and Floki. Looks like we're in for another time jump for Ragnar's younger sons to get bigger.

Did anyone catch anything with a literal bear in the trailer? In a cast interview with Hibberd, Alex was talking about working with Bart the Bear.

So I finished season 3! saw the 10 episodes in one day, I was so hooked by it! Hated Floki for killing Athelstan, he was one of my favourites, along with Siggy (RIP) and Lagertha (yes, still alive!). I must say I am rather confused by the season 3 finale, though. This series has a lot of plots happening at the same time and I do not know where they will go. I mean, what is the point of Kwenthrith and Ecbert by now? What about Aelle, who seemed to be important by season 1? It seems the show will focus on Kattegat, Paris and Lagertha's arc. By the way, what was the whole point of Harbard, will we see him again? I must say I am very satisfied with this show. It has evolved greatly since season 1. Season 2 is still my favourite, but I liked how season 3 happened. The way Athelstan's death affected Ragnar was so beautiful, I almost cried (why did you die? we had so much more so talk about)

Queen Crazypants is the one that really feels most superfluous, I think the last we saw of her and Aethelwulf set up him trying to break away from his father and not be manipulated by him, but I don't really remember. They should just hurry up and annex Mercia to Wessex already since the series loves doing time jumps, but whatever Ecbert's scheming for with her has been going on for a while.

Looks great. Lagertha is my favourite and she looks great in this. also, Floki looks to be getting the Loki treatment - I.e. Chained in a cave and left to die.

I've had a special class this year about Mythology in modern cinema, and our teacher was really fond of Vikings, he's the one who introduced it to me and my friends. And we found the main characters to all be a representation of a special god as a person. Floki is obviously Loki, they only bothered to add an "F"; Ragnar is Odin, a fierce warrior who also is looking for science and wisdom. While Rollo is Thor, the impetuous fighter, passionate guy etc.
