Hibberd that lazy fuck reporting with delay Haha I think the real motivation to for Martin to finish TWOW before Season 6 starts (or right around it) is to free up his schedule to write the screenplay for the end-game episodes in season 7 or 7.5. If he's not motivated, we're never getting the books. I feel like if he gets Book 6 to us before Season 6, we might up getting ADOS after all. If he doesn't get Winds completed soon though, we won't get either book, ever.

I mean he sings the same tune as last year and he keeps procrastinating

I wonder if he'll write an episode for s7. I mean he ought to have some hand in his story's ending...

I'm sure he's mostly got a basic understanding of what happens in each chapter, he just has to fill in minor details, and insert the odd filler chapter to remind people of a character's existence.

Nope. Don't think the publisher said anything like that. In fact, all we really know for sure is that he gave his editor, Anne Groelle, 168 finished pages a while back. The complete lack of evidence coupled with his past record gives very little reason to be optimistic.

The complete lack of evidence coupled with his past record gives very little reason to be optimistic. his deadline is spring 2016. he said so himself. if he doesn't reach the deadline whats the big deal? at least he'll get most of it done by next year. he'll release it when its ready. better to be thorough then read the book and it be crappy.

Just because he says he has a deadline doesn't mean he'll come close to it, and we have no evidence at all he'll get most of it done by next year. The big deal would be that all the book readers waiting for TWOW would be spoiled by the show for that material. I'm not waiting for it so I'm good, but I know others were looking forward to it.
And really, I'm not sure ADWD at all benefitted from his perfectionism. Constant re-writing may have damaged that book. And I did think it was crappy.

i don't see the point of being pessimistic about it. if anyone doesn't want to be spoiled then don't watch the show. Plus the show is already spoiling things.
the show is getting a lot of criticisms by fans now they might not even want to keep watching. if you thought ADWD is crappy i can't help you lol don't keep reading then.

No one's going to stop watching the show, not even the drama queens who /wrist and claim they are never watching again. They are secretly watching anyways.
I am glad George finally decided to get off the fame train and finish writing - it's definitely been distracting him and I know he loves the attention but he can't get any good work done when everyone's crawling up his shit for interviews, public appearances and writing show episodes too.

One thing he really loves is hanging out with actresses from the show. Whether it's Sibel or it's Natalia Tena or Maisie or Sophie, he LOVES it. Makes him feel young, I guess.
