McElhatton does not do enough press, IMO, but here's an interview he did with Vulture about Roose. "Move Walda out to the summer house until the baby is born!" LOL

"I'd like a scene where I do get to do that [flaying], but it's all left to Ramsay. Maybe we can do it as a flashback. I'd like that."
Don't worry, Michael. Next year you get to flay Ramsay.
Has Michael read the books? The way he talks about it it seems so.
I think we are definetely going to get the Peaceful land, Quiet people as well as Rue the day.

I hope so. I'm a little biased because I think all of Roose's lines are golden, but those need to be in the show.
I get the impression he hasn't read the books, mostly because he thinks Ramsay is more dangerous than Roose. Nah, Roose is more dangerous, he's just discreet about it.

The intimate son-and-daddy scene set up the "rue the day" line perfectly.

I'd also say that Ramsay is more dangerous. You name it: Roose is discreet. Ramsay is open about it and is unpredictable. I'd say that is why Ramsay is more dangerous. But if we talk about battles, war, cunning Roose is much more dangerous. But in regards of Sansa.

I think you can draw a clear line from Ramsay to Joffrey and Roose to Tywin as far as comparisons go.

I'll agree that Ramsay is more dangerous but only because he's a loose cannon and unpredictable so he does stupid things (like flaying the lord and his wife because they refused to pay taxes) and Roose doesn't approve of overhanded management. Roose is capable of far more dangerous plots obviously (Red Wedding) and he's calculated and careful - two things Ramsay will probably never be.
Just curious why you guys think Roose will flay Ramsay next season? He says all that's left to Ramsay in his interview.

I think you can draw a clear line from Ramsay to Joffrey and Roose to Tywin as far as comparisons go. Without a doubt. I do believe GRRM intended it that way. And sure does sound like Michael is a book reader. As for Roose not being on Arya's kill list, show wise, she only knows of the Frey's involvement in her mother and brother's deaths but not Roose's.

He's so much fun! Well, he used to be a comedy actor, so that's to be expected

If anything, he'd execute Roose for betraying the Starks and allying with the Lannisters but I'm trying to take a stab at why he'd also execute Ramsay other than because he's Roose's son and they've taken over Winterfell which isn't lawfully theirs to keep. Stannis is a stickler for the rules so I'm trying to think how he'd handle that.

That should be justified enough, especially if the Bolton forces attack his.

Other Lords have no qualms about killing their enemies just because, other than the Starks. The 'honorable' path is the more difficult one in this story and hardly anyone is truly honorable. Stannis probably comes the closest to "fair" of anyone left except for the things he goes along with because of Melisandre and I blame the boob sorcery! Stannis is attacking Winterfell because he has to move south and because the Boltons are allied with Lannister (or were) which makes them enemies. As the aggressor, does he kill the Boltons just because or take Ramsay as a political prisoner, or try to force him to bend the knee to him in exchange for his life and keeping house Bolton in line? (Which we all know won't work with Ramsay anyways). The idea is to get the houses to bend to your will, not just kill them all off, isn't it? I tend to think Stannis understands this a bit better than the Boltons or Lannisters do. I want to see Ramsay die as much as you do but I have a suspicion they might spare him because he's just too popular a villain to get rid of too soon.

But what if Theon and Sansa escape and reach him first to explain what happened? Then would he? Would he execute Ramsay to make Roose bend the knee? He told Davos he wouldn't leave Shireen and Selyse at the Wall because there's a bunch of murders and rapists there, but the Boltons are just that too. Maybe he will be less merciful?

True - Stannis did make a point that he won't abide by rapists and murderers so he has good cause to kill Ramsay if Sansa pleads her case with him. I'd rather he execute Ramsay and leave Roose alive to be honest - but that seems opposite of how it's usually done (the Father is killed to make the son bend the knee). Now obviously if Ramsay is out there leading the vanguard in battle, he should die in battle but that seems unlikely a way for him to go considering how much they've devoted to his character - moreso than the books ever did. He's a great villain for the show, he deserves a villain's death, not dying like a hero "defending his House honor" ... blech.

Just curious why you guys think Roose will flay Ramsay next season? Part of the Bolt-on theory. I think Stannis will kill Ramsay during the Battle of Wintefell, although I'd love if Theon would kill him. Roose will escape.

His house has no honor so there is nothing for him to defend - so he can't die is what you're getting at?

If you want to die a hero's death, you first have to actually be a hero
