Season 6, Episode 2: The Stag and the Flayed Man. That's all I am saying. I hope this happens. It just depends on what happens in the Season 5 finale.

There's been so much focus on WF this season that I think we stand a fair chance of the WF battle taking place, or at least of its beginning. Hopefully, Stannis will at least defeat Ramsay, even if he doesn't kill him. Somebody's got to rescue Sansa, and even if Sansa escapes WF while the Boltons still hold it, where is she going to go in that deadly blizzard? Maybe that's where Brienne and Pod come in and they then encounter Stannis. (That begs another question, what will happen when/if Brienne comes face to face with Stannis?) Stannis really needs to be left alive to fight The Others in Season 6 ( ). So IMO it could be that the battle of WF takes place this season, and in 5.10 is left as [still another] cliff hanger. Then the conclusion of the battle could be at the beginning of Season 6. The other battle that kicks off S6, since Martin said there'd be two, could involve KL and Dorne. I'm also hoping the PL happens this season. Just like in the books, that action would be the 'nail on the coffin' for Jon's getting stabbed. .

I haven't weighed in on this discussion because I have a hard time creating valid timelines in my head based on stuff we have or have not seen in the current episode. Now that we're down to the final episode arriving next week, I have to say I am starting to think the battle may not occur until next season. It looks suspiciously like they may have blown their budget for large-scale scenes in Season 5 on Daznak and Hardhome scenes which were massive as far as GoT goes. We've had no leaks of anything from a Wintefell battle by comparison, you know? Also, the fact they went with Stannis getting his troop's supplies and siege weaponry burned by Ramsay (first time I'm actually cheering for Ramsay since Stannis is now dead to me) ... how would they siege or attack Winterfell now, they can't even feed men or attack the walls in a protracted siege which could take months. Clearing the weather for them to get there (fuck you Red God) is only half the battle, sadly - which is why Shireen's sacrifice is so stupid. I think they will end the finale with them ready to charge Winterfell - maybe that's awkward, I don't know.

I think. We won't be getting the many day long one that's bound to be in early TWOW but I think we'll get an abridged one.

We might get something next year, right? I mean, for what purpose is Davos still alive? And without Sansa there can be no excuse of the Boltons ruling the North without problems. Maybe that's why there was no Manderly this season.

Maybe that's why there was no Manderly this season. Winterfell still has to be freed from the Boltons so next season it is! Maybe they wanted to wait until they had more budget since they clearly blew their wad on that massive Hardhome episode!

If Mentally Incapacitated Show!LF comes to fight the Boltons, Roose the Manoose will only blink and the Valemen all die.

Nutter outright confirmed that they had the budjet to make it a real battle. They just chose not to. FUCK YOU. "Creatively it made sense to us, because we wanted it to happen."

Well honestly, was that really the Battle of Ice? The real battle seems to be coming later since obv. the Boltons destroyed Stannis before he ever even touched Winterfell. That wasn't a battle, that was a massacre.
It would be far more epic to have the Northern Lords (who they have conveniently forgotten probably on purpose) unite to take back Winterfell. We knew Stannis was doomed the minute he burned Shireen anyways.

There are no northern lords in the show sorry it will sadly be LF who takes out the Boltons which is very underwhelming for me :/

And I think once Sansa goes north in TWOW, LF will try to convince her to undermine Rickon's rule/claim in some way which'll be the last straw for her with him and then the GoHH's prophecy will come to fruition. With her already north in the show and LF heading up there soon and now with her knowing that Bran and Rickon are alive, I think it'll all go down in s6. Which will require at least one Umber, I think.
I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Karstark or two as well.

I hope she unites the North against not only the Boltons, but Littlefinger too.
