This is my most anticipated moment in S6. I truly hope that we'll get an epic fight like Blackwater or Watchers on the Wall. What do you guys think what will happen? Will we have the Pink Letter on the show?

I have a terrible feeling that we get PL in s5 and no battle at all or battle offscreen That'd suck cause that frozen lake action would be awesome

We'll most likely only see the siege and the upcoming battle there. They can't skip such a big and hyped battle... or can they?

They can't do it next season if he's supposed to be KIA/MIA.

I'm suspicious of there being much of a Battle of Winterfell in the books, they might kind of gloss over it since it appears the timeline in ADwD jumps past the events.
If that's the case, I have a hard time believing the show is going to do anything (especially on a Blackwater/WotW scale) approaching a large battle like that. I think whatever we get at the end of this season might be more or less it.

Really? You guys think they won't show it? I think they will. Well I hope they do. They're all ready cutting the battle of Meereen, I would hate it if they cut this too.
With all the hype they have to, right? Actually forget the hype. They have to show it because something important WILL happen. Characters will die. It has to happen. None of that offscreen bullshit. 602 would be a good time.

If it happens, think more "Yara attacks Dreadfort/Dany takes Yunkai" scale than "Blackwater" is all I'm saying. I also think the "big things" that happen won't be during the battle itself.

I don't think it will be nearly as epic as Blackwater if they do the Winterfell battle. It will likely be more like the overview / overhead thing we got from Stannis running over the wildlings. That was pretty well done computer graphics anyways. They can do so much with this which a lot was learned from LOTR movies in computer animated battles to make it look much larger and more epic when in fact it's just a dozen or two soldiers repeated/altered by computer wizardry.
I agree with King Tommen that if there's big plot things to happen we won't get the details of that until after the battle.

With people talking about the level of battle, I'd guess it would be something like Craster's in terms of screentime, although obviously it's on a much larger scale, so in that way yes more like Yunkai. The trouble is, it is impossible to know how it will go down, so what these combat scenes consist of is a total mystery.

I don't think they'd keep a battle at one of the show's most well known locations off screen. Winterfell means a lot to the Starks, and the GA. I can't see them giving this battle the Robb Stark treatment.

i think it'll probably be just as epic as watchers on the wall but wont take the whole episode.
Though they could just choose to start the season with the victor having control of Winterfell (this is if they leave seaosn 5 with an ambiguous ending, like the battle beginning)

They have hyped the battle so much, they can't just leave it. They're probably not going to do a full episode like Blackwater or The Watchers on the Wall, but something smaller. Perhaps something like Stannis vs. Wildlings.

I did wander about that actually back when I read Dance the first time. But before the season aired I think Martin gave an interview where he said Winds will be opening up with two big battles. That said I agree, the show might not actually the battle of Ice, just the aftermath (?), while completely eliminating the Meereen one and making Daznak the big Meereen moment. I do think it would be awesome to see it though. Stannis has also been shown as very determined to fight the Boltons and not losing anytime to move south. So deep down I'm really expecting some Dillane teeth grinding, badass sarcasm and fighting action. The Boltons need a grammar lesson.

Yeah, the battle of Winterfell has so much potential. What other "massive" events are happening in S6? The battle of Meereen is out. Probably quite a lot of dragon CGI.

Theres probably going to be an Others invasion and Dany will be coming to Westeros and i imagine there'd be some sort of battle for control of the iron throne...she'll probably use her dragons.
