I loved ADWD Dany despite most people hating it, but the scene in episode 3 doesnt give me hope of the future of the arc. Dany executed someone for killing a Harpy? Why? Shes tons more ruthless in the books, she actually orders people tortured and their daughters tortured in front of them. Correct me if Im wrong, but this seems like they just wanted to give Dany a reasonable position, and the people of Meereen as unreasonable(thus they hiss at her). I HATE this. This is supposed to be about how far will Dany go, will she become a monster, yet the show already made her seem like a "good guy" here....contrary to what I love about the story and its allusions to America or Western societies thinking our culture is better than everyone elses. Dammit D&D. I think you are getting ahead of yourself, you've only watched 4 episodes, you don't know what will happen in the other 6. Especially if Barristan dies in episode 5, wouldn't you think Dany might do something rash, like she did with the win-seller in order to retaliate for Barristan's death? There has to be a natural transition as there was in the books, where Dany will find herself in a desperate situation, thus accepting Hizzy offer. And to clarify the only person we see her personally sent to be harshly questions is the wine sellers daughter. And no, ADWD isn't about an allegory of America thinking it's better than anyone else. It's more akin an allegory to the American Revolution American Civil War, where the North fought the South in order to end slavery.

I think Brienne will get to Winterfell in time to realize the Boltons are crazy and she'll maybe try to assist Sansa in some way. Though how she does this, I'm not sure on. Can she really remain hidden? She can't exactly blend in. Brienne is the Hooded (wo)man? edit: damn autocorrect. I said Brienne, not briefness

Dammit D&D. This show will always white wash Dany and Tyrion. They will never be as controversial or grey as they are in the books. It's a damn shame. Actually, they've taken away quite a lot of the close, compassionate scenes Dany has in the book. Doreah is the most notable example I can think of; in the books, Dany holds her as she slowly dies. In the show, she locks her in a vault to starve to death. But she also doesn't get things like her scene comforting Missandei after her brother dies, which is really beautiful yet sad. And she won't get her scene walkin among the plague victims, which I personally thought was one of the most selfless acts in the books. In some things they have removed some controversy and whitewashed her, but in others they have actually made her appear worse than she is. As for Meereen, yes the books focused a lot on the conflict between her dragons queen persona and planting olive trees side, but even in the books, it's quite clear the Meereenese slaving class are atrocious beings completely uninterested in peace or compromise with her. Dany makes some questionable decisions, and yes, the moment I was most disappointed in her was indeed the Wineseller's daughters. But let's not pretend the Meereenese and Sons of the Harpy were fluffy bunnies. They were a terrorist group killing innocents.

The American Revolution was fought against England, for Independence from England. The North vs The South, with slavery being the main motivating issue is called The Civil War, I suppose in other countries it would be called The American Civil War.

This is what I get for typing too quickly and not proofing.

I checked the OnDemand and no extra Stephen (directly talking, that is). I'm guessing the video I posted here is just a fraction of the 4 mintute one from HBO/OD. It's a bit silly really, why can one service have it, but not another. Even GOT youtube doesn't have the long version.
The Inside the Episode segment is attached to the end of the episode on HBO/OD. Then the Anatomy/Mance clip is separate. I have to say, just listening to the 4 min anatomy of scenes.....D&D make it sound like Mance is dead and gone, for good. I don't think it's a trick, as they were trying to sound so profound about their ideas for Mance's last scenes. Insert eye roll.

And, too much typing, as I have done that the past few days.

Oh well...
