The soundtrack sounded promising in the first episode. The extremely dark Rains of Castamere and Mance's burning music sounded intense.. and the "The sons of the Harpy theme" (this could be something similar, but when White Rat was murdered, something similar played on the background) Isn't that the Faith Militant's theme too that plays in their crazy montage? Should we then call it the theme of the fanatic's? I haven't seen their crazy montage yet!

Huh? You mean all the kids goldcloaks killed in Season 2 were Robert's bastards? I thought they just killed every black-haired child who was young enough to be fathered by Robert in KL.

What is Davos’s position under Stannis now? Does he have more power?"Davos would never think of it in terms of victories or of spoils – there’s a job to be done. I think his battle is keeping Stannis on the right track. He’s not a military man, but you can well imagine that as the series progresses he’s going to come up against it and specifically because of the Red Woman [Melisandre]. And, without giving anything away, this comes to a very, very serious and dramatic conclusion – maybe we shouldn’t use the word conclusion – a dramatic head, later on in the series, which is extraordinary." www.thenational.ae/arts-lifestyle/television/game-of-thrones-qa-with-liam-cunninghamI wonder what this conclusion/head is and why am I suddenly a bit nervous.

I have neither seen nor heard something like that before. I read the article and nothing about it seemed to back it up. I have to wonder if a writer or interviewer has managed to mangle a joke from all the various press events full of statements that basically told us nothing? LOL Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a serious mention of Brienne and Gregor for this year, or ever......I wouldn't be surprised if there is the odd joke or speculation out there, though

Shit. Shit. That Brienne/Mountain thing seems a bit farfetched to me.

Re the Brienne Mountain thing, I haven't seen the leaked episodes (and don't want to know the answer here from those who have--I want to see it myself) but in the promo sati posted in the Ep. 2 thread, we see Pod being ridden down by some unknown horseman. So, surely Brienne must draw her sword and do battle there, no? Wouldn't that be considered 'combat,' or could she mean trial by combat? Sounds iffy to me.

I don't think Davos is going to bite it yet. Isn't he Benioff's favorite character? Maybe Melisandre dies, I don't know.
And I just can't see how Brienne would fight the Mountain. She's heading North, while the Mountain and Qyburn are still in KL.

She's heading North, while the Mountain and Qyburn are still in KL. I wasn't worried about Stannis or Davos or Melisandre this season. Now I'm concerned that either Stannis or Davos dies and Carice and Liam talked about a shocking moment involving Melisandre. So yikes yeah. I'm...alarmed for the first time. I figured I had until season 6 to seriously worry about Stan, Dave, and Mel. *goes to get alcohol and ativan.*

Never has an emoticon been more apt. This is payback for me scoffing about the theory that Brienne would kill Stannis this season. I think there is a chance we're going to get some sort of "betrayal" for the Greater Good by Mel that might involve the death of Davos or Stannis. I adore show Mel, but she is definitely more ruthless than her book counterpart. And I could see it fitting thematically. Oh hey look at me telling people to chill a few days ago now spit-balling dire theories. BRB. I'm going to eat crow of the decidedly non-NW variety.

The Mountain's only revealed as Cersei champion in 510 at the end of the WoS, so there wouldn't be any time for a fight between them in s5.

I just have no idea why they would put that in there, especially with no quote from her about that. I don't how reputable that newspaper is either.

Whatever happened with the old woman that was supposed to help Brienne out? Was that ever confirmed? Was hard to keep track of all the rumors/info for a while.
