I saw this last night, but wanted to share it with you all.
Mess. I don't blame him for walking out, though. If you're just there to do a press junket for the movie, you don't ask the star deeply personal questions. Time and a place etc.

I love Robert and he played it well - he wasn't rude or anything and the journalist was so awkward

Weird interviewer.....was the guy TRYING to get personal that whole time? He didn't seem to want to stay on topic with the film...... also did Robert say he didn't know what a liberal was?

That interviewer was kind of an asshole. Why should he have to answer questions about shit that occurred 20 years ago? I don't blame him for dodging those answers and leaving.

His name's Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4 News in the UK. He did a similar interview with Quentin Tarantino where he annoyed Tarantino to the point where he said (jokingly): "I'm shutting your butt down!"

Yeah, he's pulled this stunt before.
You don't turn a promotional interview into hard hitting journalism. If this guy wants to start throwing personal questions around, then maybe he shouldn't be on the promo circuit in the first place. It's disrespectful, rude and unprofessional to try and get a soundbyte out of a guy who thinks he's there to promote a movie.

Oh man this promo tour appears to be making more problems than actually promoting the movie:
(not sure if the link works, at work)
I think Renner and Evans' comments were inappropriate, while Renner said some gross stuff before (Golden Globes this year, anyone?), why Chris, why? When there is one female lead in your franchise you should really show more class

I saw that also! Pretty gross joke, but at least they quickly apologised for it. But yeah, I agree with you. Comic book movies have been criticised for years for being such sausage-fests, so making such a crass joke about the only prominent female character in the biggest sausage-fest comic book movie of all is pretty tasteless.

For me the worst thing about this all is that she is such a popular character and yet she still doesn't have a solo movie. Disney is pretty misogynistic when it comes to green lighting projects, they keep saying 'it's in the works' but yeah, how many years have they been saying that? Meanwhile we had several male-centered comic book films
