I watched Solo and thought it was "meh" It's an ok movie, I did enjoy it more than Rogue One, the characters are more likeable (probably because I already knew them from the previous films), but the story could have been told better and I have the same problem I had with Rogue One: I can't feel any of the tension they try to create because I already know Han and Chewaka will be ok. (Also, sorry but I didn't find Emilia believable, maybe is because she looks so young and innocent with her natural hair but I couldn't see her as the shady badass she was supposed to be) I think that was part of the point with Kira. Nobody suspects her because a) she was Han’s childhood friend, and b) she appears very non-threatening. I would really like to learn more about her character tbh, I found the constant teasing of things she had done to get there intriguing. I thought the film was better than I expected though. I didn’t have high hopes as I was never a fan of the concept to begin with, and the clusterfuck of its’ creation didn’t give me a lot of hope, but it ended up being a nice film. Some genuine humour, liked the characters (again the droids knocked it out of the park. L3 though the droid revolution) some wonderful shots. Not without its problems but i’d give it a solid 7/10. I would definitely rewatch

This remake stuff is amazing.
The details are so funny as well. So they don't actually have any money as of yet, but they do have "pledges". So when they reach a certain amount in pledges, they will then ask for the real donations. At which point some mystery investor will also donate a large sum, and they'll go petition Disney to get the rights.
What's funnier is they keep celebrating the amount of pledges and saying things like "we've overtaken Solo!" But any number of people could say "I'm going to pledge one million dollars!", and it would be included in this total, without actually giving any money.
I really want this to be real, even though it's totally a scam.

On a more serious note, the people who can't distinguish between character and actor need to get a fucking grip.

On a more serious note, the people who can't distinguish between character and actor need to get a fucking grip. That's heartbreaking. Jar Jar might not have been the best character but that's on Lucas's writing and directing and not on Ahmed Best.

As hyped as I am for the next Thrawn book, this cover looks so weird. It's like some official artwork but with Hayden Christensen's face just lazily slapped on. I can't get over how out-of-place it looks.

A Padme book by EK Johnston and an Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon book by Claudia Gray! Especially looking forward to Gray's book since everything she puts out is GOLD.
Best part about these announcements is I can stop seeing people endlessly whinge about the prequels being ignored!

The cycle of Star Wars TV: 1) New show is announced 2) Cries of "It's too kiddy!", "The last show was 1000% times better!", "Star Wars is RUINED!" 3) Years pass, show generally improves 4) Show concludes with large fanbase 5) Repeat How a minute of footage of a show aimed at kids can genuinely anger so many is both frustrating and hilarious Though in hindsight, by acknowledging the cycle I'm also perpetuating it. I've become the very thing I swore to destroy!

I've become the very thing I swore to destroy! That trailer doesn't do much tbf... Sub par animation and cliche over the top anime protagonist... It's not so much kiddy as just generic and kind of bland. Sorry. If it's any consolation, Clone Wars is amazeballs.

I don't mean to disparage anyone's opinion, it's more the lack of awareness of certain fans that gets to me. Some said Clone Wars was shit when it was first airing, and the same of Rebels, yet those two shows garnered devoted fanbases by the time they were done. The fact that some people are looking at this minute of footage and going "this looks terrible and therefore it should be cancelled!" is silly, and I can't take them seriously, but I get that they're the minority (and that ranting about it here is kinda pointless) and that a lot of people simple don't like it. And I'm fine with that. As for the animation, eh. I don't disagree, but these shows always look kinda poor initially, and always get a bigger budget as they do on. I can't say I'm a fan of the style either but oh well, not everything's for me!

I can't say I'm a fan of the style either but oh well, not everything's for me! I doubt the show will be bad in the sense it will be unwatchable, it just doesn't appeal to me. That said, that style of 3d animation is kind of ugly to me anyway. It'll have it's audience. I can see where the arguments coming from, but honestly, it's star wars, and will make money despite itself. I think personally, much like like Solo, which saw limited success in spite of positive reviews, disney are just milking the series a little too much. I mean another series set in an over explored era? Yawn. I think the best thing they could do is go and explore a different era. The rise of the Jedi and sith, the Old Republic era, Darth Bane... there's a lot more barely explored potential than the rebellion era, which outside of the main trilogy is actually kind of dull. I mean, just rogue one is enough to cover the rebellion. Over exposition is the greatest killer of storytelling. Certain things are just unnecessary and in a universe as expansive as Star Wars' there has to be more creative stories. But yeah, nah this isn't going to get cancelled because people, who will probably watch the show in spite of themselves, say it should be.
