I'm currently watching a movie on Netflix about a group of people who are stuck in an elevator ... with the devil.

Shyamalan wrote that movie, btw. It was fairly popular when it was released here, but I never saw it. Couldn't take the premise seriously.

I mean, it's not great, but it builds some decent tension, so you probably won't get bored watching it. It's like zero scary though.

day dreamer i saw the war for the planet of the apes. It wasn't too bad but i couldn't get past the fact that these large apes were riding horses i felt sorry for the horses lol Was the story supposed to lead into the original Planet of the Apes? I re-watched that recently and there is a 'nova' in both movies but it doesn't match up. Also Charlton Heston's character 'Taylor' would have gotten the virus if it was so contagious...

No, it's not a lead in. That was just an easter egg for fans of the original movie. This trilogy would take place years before Heston landed back on Earth if they went that route.

Watching Mamma Mia ... it's so terrible, but so great at the same time.

The Disaster Artist was supposed to get a wide release tomorrow but it's not playing anywhere locally and I can't find any info on why it might have been rolled back.

How do you guys feel about "mother!"? I saw it today and thought it was ... a hot mess piece of shit movie. Like, I actively hated it, which doesn't happen very often.

Daniel and I started a Harry Potter marathon. We watched the first two movies tonight and hopefully, we'll be able to watch the other six tomorrow. It's a daunting task, but I think we can do it. I'm surprised how well the first two hold up actually. They are definitely a lot more child friendly than the rest, but I find that they capture the essense of the book series much, much better than some of the later movies. The world feels whimsical and magical, but with a really dark and sinister undertone, which is beautifully expressed through John Williams' amazing score. I read the book series like four of five times a year, I basically never stop reading it ... but it's been awhile since the last time I've seen the movies. So far, I'm really enjoying it.

Could not agree more about the first couple really capturing the essence of the books well. They’re my favorites and the only ones I rewatch annually. Sorcerer Stone watch at Christmas time is mandatory

I think the films generally decline in quality from CoS onwards though (I’m a minority that’s thinks PoA was a shitty film)

I think about Call Me By Your Name every day since they released the first trailer. I'm obsessed with a movie I haven't even seen yet. What the fuck.
