Crazy Ex Girlfriend broke my heart Poor Rebecca That final scene... I’m not crying, it’s just the chlorine... Even with all that stuff though it’s still managed to be completely hilarious elsewhere (the Whitefeather employees mostly, and especially snarky Mrs. Hernandez).

Hernandez). I think it was done on purpose, they made the office plot ridiculous and the characters behaved in a sillier way than usual to add a very needed levity. I'm with you, I started crying and screaming when I saw Rebecca take that first pill, I literally wanted to get inside the screen and stop her, and I've never been in a such a bad place in my life. From some comments I've seen, people who have dealt with mental illness and suicide thoughts think the episode hit the nail right on the head. The writers and the CW deserve respect for portraying such a delicate issue in a realistic way.
And I feel silly because I thought Naomi was just being nice to help Rebecca, I didn't see the pills coming until the Audra scene. What Naomi did is awful, but you understand 100% that she's scared shitless for Rebecca and is doing what she thinks is best. Of course is not what Rebecca needs and at the end it only hurts her more. They weren't kidding when they said this season was going to be dark. But I didn't expect to get so dark so quickly. Next time Rachel Bloom posts a warning about an episode being harsh I'm going to visit you so we can cry our eyes out together.

Next time Rachel Bloom posts a warning about an episode being harsh I'm going to visit you so we can cry our eyes out together. I have been in such a dark place before and totally agree. Such an accurate depiction, especially of overdose. Overdosing on prescription meds’ isn’t exactly what you would call a certain way to kill yourself (awful as that sounds) but often it happens because you just feel so desperate you need a release and the medication is there and you see it as an opportunity. Then, because it doesn’t kill you, but can often leave you very ill, you realise you aren’t ready to die yet and try reaching out for help. And CEG absolutely nailed that. And yeah the Naomi stuff was disturbing but at the same time you are right in that her actions are understandable. She almost lost Rebecca once, she is genuinely frightened it will happen again, so she does the only thing she knows how to to try and help. It’s really really sad, because fucked up as it is you can still see it’s coming from a place of love !maybe she’s not such a heinous bitch was really good though and I loved having Rachel sing again after a couple of weeks without her This show is even more under appreciated than the American. I know it has its loyal bunchoffans but I wish it got more widespread acclaim because it seriously deserves it. I also concur that next time Rachel posts a warning we should cry together. Although I never visit her twitter until after an episode because I’m trying (and largely succeeding) to remain unspoiled before I watch each episode because they are all so brilliant and 5e surprising turns are a big part of that

If you ever need to talk, I'm here, Yeah the show deserves a lot of credit for not making Naomi an uncaring mother who just wants Rebecca to be an extension of herself (there is some of that, but there is also a lot of love and lack of knowledge). Naomi doesn't understand Rebecca's needs and she doesn't know what she's dealing with, hopefully once Rebecca is diagnosed and starts therapy they'll come back to address how damaging their relationship is right now. I want to force literally everyone I know to watch the show. It's frustrating how small the fan base is.

About to start the series finale of Vice Principals. This is a very underrated show and features the best characterization of any comedy I've seen in recent years.

I guess that LOTR Amazon series is offically happening, but the press release says it will explore stories set before Fellowship. So maybe referring to it as Lord of the Rings is an easy way for people who don't know any better to be excited about it, but this might actually be a Silmarillion related situation?????????????????????????

Amazon wants a Game of Thrones type hit and they think this is the easiest way to get that (they are probably right). They paid for 250 million dollars just for the rights to the material...no scripts have been written, no showrunner has been set...this might be the expensive TV show made when all is said and done. It could be the Silmarillion (which would make sense as the only Tolkien work not filmed)...I could see them exploring stories from the appendices of LoTR that weren't filmed too. Time will tell. I am a little pressed because this most likely means Amazon won't go forward with Oasis, a pilot they premiered in March and it had a lot of potential, since they are spending all this money on LoTR stories -they probably are not going to pay money for a sci-fi show. I have mixed feelings...probably when I get over my bitterness about Oasis, I can be happier about this.

Unclear if they do have the rights to Silmarillion. Not sure myself either, on the one hand Christopher Tolkien is, uh, less than enthusiastic about selling the rights to any more of his father’s material and unless I am mistaken he gets final say when the Tolkien Estate is involved. On the other hand, such an exorbitant amount of money...has to be more than just the appendices and main text they got, surely? Everyone has a price as the saying goes.

Peaky Blinders has returned to screens in the UK. Need to catch up on the premiere but apparently it’s a doozy. kingeomer you should probably expect it in the US sometime soon if we follow the precedent of season 3

I would hope that 250 mil includes the Silmarillion. The LOTR movies did borrow from the appendices with plot, so I do not know how much they could do that hasn't been. I do know Christopher Tolkien is very finicky about the rights, so who knows? Peaky Blinders has returned to screens in the UK. You must have been reading Mr. Kingeomer's mind because he asked me when is Peaky Blinders coming back and I said I think it's starting in the UK soon, so hopefully we will be getting it in the New Year maybe!!! I saw Adrian Brody is in this season.

I saw Adrian Brody is in this season. Well, update...Christopher Tolkien actually resigned in August. So the floodgates for heavy commercialisation of JRR’s work have opened Edit; there is actually a lot of material in the appendices that would be ‘new’ adaptation. Mostly stuff from the Second Age. What would be interesting would be a series adaptation of the Secnd Age, detailing the forging of the Rings, Celebrimbor, Gl-Glad, Elrond And Galadriel versus Sauron and running up to the Last Alliance. Or you do a history of Gondor and Arnor after the Last Alliance, with all that entails - the fall of Rhdaur, Cardolan and Arthedain in the North, the Kin-Strife, the death and disease and various wars with Umbar and the East... Of course the problem with this is that the appendices are very brief on details, so it would essentially be fanfic signposted by bullet points Tolkien wrote...

stoneheartsrevenge please watch the episode asap, it was so great. This show has so much meat and stuff to talk about, it just keeps getting better and better. So brilliant and again very relatable (I have spent too much time around MH care and those suffering for it not to be) First, love love loved Nathaniel not knowing how to speak to Rebecca about her suicide attempt. It rings so true. It’s so difficult to know what to say after something like that. related, Paula, Valencia and Heather walking on eggshells around Rebecca was so accurate too. The importance of a diagnosis for Rebecca herself also rings true because it gives some kind of definition and form to your struggles. on a personal level, I suspected BPD. One of my closest friends suffered with it and I totally see the similarities. Only thing I was unsure of was Valencia. I understand what they were showing there I’m just not sure it rang true/believable for Valecia’s Character (though I don’t know who they would have used instead)y
Also, Bloom’s performances is fantastic. I would not be surprised if she took the Golden Globe again

No new episode of CEG this week so I rewatched last week’s and it’s just unbelievable how relateable it all is. The lyrics, the music, and the acting from Bloom in Diagnosis is phenomenal, accurately capturing the desperation, panic and optimism associated with finally having that sense of identity that comes with a proper diagnosis of your issues
