I wanted to watch Mindhunter on Netflix, but I don't want to see Jonathan Groff bang a chick. There, I said it.

I’m really excited after where last week left off Tell me what you think, IMO is the best episode so far. The way they made Rebecca hit rock bottom was painful as hell but it fits really well with her personality, this season the darkness that was always lurking behind the comedy is coming to the surface and is great. And the fake credits are amazing.

So without spoilers, did everybody like Stranger Things 2? I've got two more episodes in my season one rewatch.

It was easy to forget this was a comedy this week, but all the same it was very well done and was an appropriate way of handling the dark subject matter. BROOM DARYL in the credits the song in your signature was so good though.

It was easy to forget this was a comedy this week, but all the same it was very well done and was an appropriate way of handling the dark subject matter. BROOM DARYL in the credits the song in your signature was so good though. The credits are gold, my favourites are "Carb assistant", "Insurance No thank you" and "Best Boy Jarl thedanishguy". I agree with you, they made their main character fall into the abysm, the way she lashed out to her friends because she thought they were going to leave her despite everyone telling her they love her and just want to help, how Josh's ghosting fed into her abandonment issues and drove her to act like she did just to get his attention, the "Butter can't save you now" at the carnival, and how they torched any chance of Greg ever coming back in the most extreme way so Rebecca can't hold on to any narrative trope and make her feel like she has nothing left was brutal, painful and sad.
The show always had darkness lurking behind the shiny surface and the comedy and this season it has been more and more evident in each episode, this episode was dark as fuck even with the tiny moments of comedy like Rebecca in the shrub costume pushing the swing or Paula's reaction to Brendan selling weed.
The best part IMO is that, as dark and hard as this episode was, it also made me hopeful. All the characters were forced to face the issues they have been ignoring and I feel like Rebecca will finally get the help she has needed for years.
I'm really glad the writers dared to say "fuck off" to narrative tropes in such a way. I have been listening to "the end of the movie" all weekend, it was the perfect way to end the episode. What shocks me the most is that this is only episode 04. This episode feels like a finale but we're just at the beginning, I'm looking forward to whatever they do next.

Totally agree with you. I genuinely think this show is one of the more daring shows out there and is willing to push boundaries all of the time and in most cases succeed. Doesn’t constrain itself with tropes or what fans want to happen or making characters likeable, but focuses instead on narrative sense and doing the unexpected in such a way that it makes total sense. I really cannot praise this show enough. We should thank the Danish school system for that I missed butter cannot save you now. Can’t wait for more Naomi and Audra, who are both supposed to appear next week...

I loved Season 1 of Stranger Things with all my heart, but I thought Season 2 was even better in a lot of ways.

So without spoilers, did everybody like Stranger Things 2? I've got two more episodes in my season one rewatch. Well...here's my total unrelated bitching about the show. Season 1 came out July 2016 (or June, I can't remember) and my Mom had the kids for a week and husband and I could bang out this show quickly. Now they release season 2 in October and Oct-Jan are Busy times for our family...so watching this show quickly is not possible. Anyway, that's my whine. We're up to episode 2 and I like it so far. I can't say that I like it better then season 1 yet, but I have to wait to whenever we get to the end.
