Makes sense. I feel like IF works well with LC, especially with the Misty and Colleen pairing the comments I have been reading (I still need to watch LC and IF season 2) are all saying this is the logical place for IF and other characters from the show to turn up. I hope that's the case.

The law enforcement agencies in these shows always seem so interchangeable. I swear Nadeem's office is the exact same as Madani's office in Punisher.

This is seriously one of the best seasons of any TV show I've ever seen, it's officially replaced s1 of Jessica Jones as my favourite season of all the Netflix Marvel shows. Every single episode is an emotional roller coaster with some stellar acting and writing across the board.
Three more episodes to go. Really hope they stick the landing.

Only 4 episodes in but man this is one hell of a season already. The writing, the music, the fight scenes - the FUCKING FIGHT SCENES - are incredible. Was that fight really all done in a single take? How long did that go on for? I know it's not exactly something new in tv - not even in Daredevil - but damn it was still impressive. I thought it'd just be about beating up those 3 guys but it just kept going and going! They didn't really waste much time in getting the season going. Can't wait for what's next.

Done. What a journey, I loved every second of it. No fucking words to describe how much I loved Matt's "I beat you" speech to Fisk at the end. I rewatched that scene like ten times ... such a spectacular bit of acting from Charlie Cox. You could literally feel the anger and frustration vibrating off of him when he wanted to kill Fisk, but couldn't bring himself to. And with Vanessa asking him to stop and Fisk taunting ... fucking hell, what a great scene, and an awesome payoff to three seasons of conflict between Daredevil and Fisk. Really powerful stuff, I'm glad they managed to give us a satisfying ending to the season. I absolutely loved what they did with Agent Nadeem, and how his arc became one of the most emotionally compelling ones of the seasons. The whole FBI conspiracy thing was really well done, and contained several twists that I did not see coming. Like, my jaw dropped to the fucking floor when the FBI lady shot her boss and revealed that she was working for Fisk. Dex was an interesting character. I kind of hated him, but I also genuinely felt sorry for him and wanted him to get better. I'm not sure though if I want him to return in the next season - a character like that really works best as a henchman, not the main antagonist. I think I would have preferred it if he had died, but I am interested to see what they do with him in Season 4. Fisk continues to be one of the most fascinating and terrifying Marvel villains for me. This season does such a good job of convincing you, the viewer, that Matt is right and that Fisk really does need killing. Glad that they brought Vanessa back, she's a fascinating character in her own right. You never really know how morally depraved she truly is, and how genuine her feelings for Fisk are. Does she love him as a person, or is she mainly attracted to his position and power? I hope she'll play a bigger role next season. Maybe Dex will be out for blood, and Matt will have to protect Vanessa from him, something like that ... I think I'd like to see Matt and Vanessa interact more. I'm super happy right now. After Iron Fist and rather mediocre second seasons for both Daredevil and Jessica Jones, this blew me the fuck away. Definitely the strongest Marvel season I've ever seen.

god, this season is fucking phenomenal so far By the timing I'm assuming this was after episode 8? If so, fully agreed! I was trying to save all my thoughts until I'd finished but there's too damn much in this one episode alone! That Karen-Fisk scene was so stressful I'm gonna have trouble sleeping. Thank god for Foggy.
Speaking of stressful, any time Dex is on-screen I'm afraid he's gonna snap. Can't believe Fisk would mess with another man's Vanessa. I had to rewind to make sure that was actually Julia who'd been killed, it was so sudden. Very disturbing that Fisk was prepared to do the same to Dex had that meeting not gone as planned.
Also, were we just getting the news that Maggie was Matt's mother for the first time there? I swear it was mentioned in earlier seasons that his mother was a nun, so I'd just assumed it was her and that Matt also knew, judging from the very familiar way they spoke.

So I typed out a post that seems to be lost in cyberspace somewhere last night. Basically it said I think they are going all in with this season because it isn’t likely to be the last so they want to make a big impression. As I understand it there are issues with Disney/Marvel and Netflix over the rights, probably because of Disney’s coming streaming service. They likely want their Marvel property for that. Anyway, last night I posted that we can expect JJ season 3 and Punisher season 2 as I think they are already wrapped. But wasn’t sure on the stance of LC. Well, as chance would have it...it got cancelled today deadline.com/2018/10/luke-cage-cancelled-marvel-netflx-mike-colter-cheo-hodari-coker-1202486487/So yeah, expect this to be MNU’s final hurrah. Going to start watching tonight

Going to start watching tonight Damn that's a shame. S2 was really good. Seeing as how Iron Fist was in an episode of that, could it be that Marvel will put out a new show with both of them on the Disney service?
Although that article says that the show got cancelled over creative differences (seems like they could've just hired new showrunners instead of pulling the plug on the whole thing), so maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part?

'creative differences' is a meaningless catch all phrase really, I don't think that reveals anything much. I think this is likely just part of Marvel/Disney getting the characters back from Netflix. I don't know what the deal they made was but iirc 2019 came up somewhere as some kind of cut off, or maybe I misunderstood that. And I don't know if Marvel/Disney can use the same cast if they bring the shows to their service. We'll likely see in the coming months

Okay finished Daredevil. It was definitely the most consistent season of any of the Netflix shows. I was hooked throughout and I don't think it suffered from the 13-episode length that pretty much every other show has. If there's one thing this show has going for it, it's the fight choreography. How I can find a man throwing cutlery so entertaining is beyond me, but they pull it off without it looking too silly. In fact that whole final fight sequence was phenomenal. I'm not exactly the kind of person who'd physically react to a tv show, but when Fisk rammed him into that wall I jumped out my seat. That fucking crunch .. ooft. I'm glad we got some Karen backstory, because Deborah Ann Woll is a great actress and she killed the extra stuff she got this season. In fact the whole cast is pretty much perfect - the guy playing Foggy's brother is the spitting image of Foggy, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually related - and the new additions of Maggy and Dex were brilliantly performed. Cox and D'Onofrio were probably the best though, that final scene between the two of them was intense. Dex was a very interesting character, in that I didn't exactly root for him, but I didn't hate him either. I wasn't expecting any sort of redemption after the Bulletin massacre, but I definitely pitied him. Although killing the old woman who owned the painting was a red line, I lost any sympathy I had for him after that point. I mean at least Fisk knows when to stop! I think he may have overtaken Kilgrave for creepiest Marvel villain. Once we find out his backstory, and especially after he burns his tapes, I kept worrying that he'd snap at any point and the waiting for that inevitable moment genuinely unsettled me. He got a bit of a cheesy ending though, which felt like it belonged in a different show I half expected Vanessa to not come back, especially when they said she was missing. I wondered maybe if the actress didn't want to return, and so Vanessa would just keep getting mentioned as being in Europe somewhere. I'm very glad that wasn't the case, because she's a very intriguing character and I'm never really sure whether her feelings for Fisk are genuine or if she's playing her own game. Hopefully we'll see more of her in the next season (if we're actually getting a fourth season, that is...) In fact until that cliffhanger, I was almost expecting this to be some big finale for the whole show. It could've ended there and I probably would've been happy. Well, mostly - there was no Turk! I really really hope that I'm not just speaking through recency bias, but I think it's probably my favourite season of any of these shows, surpassing JJ S1. I'd rank them in a list, but my mind is just too focused on this season to think about all the others. It's too good!

daredevil has been cancelled ... fuck Yeah just saw that. Maybe they're moving them to the Disney service? Or that could just be wishful thinking.
I wonder what that means for Jessica Jones and Punisher, since they've both filmed their next seasons. Hopefully they won't be unceremoniously cancelled before airing.
Though this makes it even more bizarre that Agents of Shield was renewed for an 7th season while the 6th isn't even out yet. I guess Disney just don't like Netflix anymore?

Disney outright owns ABC, the channel that airs Agents of Shield, so I am not surprised it continues on. I think since Disney is getting it's own streaming service, it wants to do it's own version of these Marvel shows. I won't be surprised if they come back and come back in a few years recast and PG-13 at best version of them. I think JJ and the Punisher will air their upcoming seasons and be cancelled.

What little I have managed to read suggests bad blood between Disney and Netflix and the deterioration of their contractual relationship with fault on both sides. AFAIK Netflix still have the rights to their shows so will probably air Punisher and Netflix - both have filmed I think so its wasted money if they don’t. i see no chance of the shows moving to Disney streaming though. First because of the breakdown of the Netflix relationship, Netflix aren’t going to give up the seasons they currently have. Second, I believe the streaming service is associated with the MCU studio people who infamously seem to detest the marvel tv people so that is also a big nope

As for the bolded, considering the Marvel stuff that's going on Disney+ is largely movie based, that doesn't really surprise me. Plus Ike Perlmutter (who the tv folks report to but the movie folks don't) is a massive arsehole, so the less he has, the better.

The Defenders kind of sucks but I’m invested in Elektra and the Hand storyline.
