I've recently wrote this cinematiccorner.blogspot.com/2015/03/10-underrated-game-of-thrones.html highlighting only the very supporting actors in the show. But lately I've been thinking about just how outstanding this ensemble is, nearly everyone is getting at least one flawless scene. What are your favorite performances in the show? 1. Michelle Fairley - best scene - the last moments of Catelyn 2. Charles Dance - best scene - his talk with Jaime during his first appearance 3. Peter Dinklage - Tysha monologue 4. Stephen Dillane - Stannis hearing Selyse talk of their dead children 5. Nikolaj Coster Waldau - the bath scene 6. Lena Headey - Blackwater ending 7. Pedro Pascal - dungeon scene with Tyrion 8. Kit Harington - the funeral of Ygritte

1 - Michelle Fairley - Should have won the Emmy, criminal she wasn't even nominated 2 - Lena Headey - She is excellent as Cersei, and probably the most consistently good, even if she hasn't had a high as high as Michelle 3 - Sophie Turner (season 4) - Sorry but I thought she was excellent HM: Kit Harington (season 4 - ), Maisie Williams, Pedro Pascal. I can't in good conscience list Peter Dinklage because his accent is pretty offensively bad.

Oh I'm loving Sophie in season 5 the scene where she meets Roose is flawlessly acted out I also thought the scene at Moat Cailin was excellent. Her refusing in a kind of childish/temper tantrum-y way was nice because I think it's an attempt to bridge the gap of her transition into the badass player they've been talking about. It was a regression back into old Sansa which showed she's not quite there yet.
Or maybe I'm reading into it too much. Either way, I hope that scene with Roose isn't the extent of the gameplaying we were promised.

Best reaction shots:
Cat to first hearing the Rains of Castamere played. And to seeing Robb die.
Almost every Cersei/Lena one around, particularly when she's making drunk faces
Tyrion's during Oberyn's speech in his cell
Jaime during Tyrion's trial and in his s1 scene with Cat
Reek when he finds out Robb is dead and when he sees Sansa in WF . Sansa during the PW and seeing WF again. Ellaria to seeing Oberyn's head crushed. All of Stannis's during ep. 305 Missandei's during the Plaza of Pride scene Mel during dinner with the Baratheons ine p. 402. Jorah during his banishing scene and to seeing the Dany-lookalike prostitute.

The show really got some actors who are flawless at this and to me this is the essence of the acting - reacting as the character. Just amazing stuff

I actually think this was Lena's worst moment, sadly. Well, not this exact moment in the gif (which was fine), but her reaction post-death. It was a bit...subdued? Moar platesmashing plz.

Lots of good ones mentioned already:
Peter Dinklage during Tyrion's trial speech.
Emilia Clarke during the Dracarys at Astapor.
Rory McCann telling Arya about what Gregor did to him.

Including everything above I'd add Davos' scene with Shireen when he's locked up and she wants him to read. I loved their acting in that one.

I love this cast.
Top 3 performances so far 1. Charles Dance - what an absolute boss. Captured Tywin so perfectly that I was actually rooting for show!Tywin. Way better than his book counterpart. Schooling Joffrey and the ride in to the throne room.. what a boss! Also his scenes with Peter were fantastic. 2. Peter Dinklage - Not my favorite character, but Peter has been excellent. I can't remember him under performing at any stage. 3. Lena Headey - talented actress. Absolutely stole the show during the Purple Wedding. She portraits Cersei's madness and nastiness perfectly.
Stephen Dillane, Sophie Turner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Alfie Allen are very close.

I wouldn't put them in the top 5, but I really love Iwan Rheon and Mike McHat.

Hmmm...best performances over time...there are so many!!! In no order.... 1. Sean Bean, The Wolf and the Lion, the look on his face after the argument with Robert over Dany. Just perfect. The way he stormed out of the room and everything. 2. Michelle Fairley...there are so many...I loved her work in Rains but I will also say the scene in season 1 when Robb comes back from battle, the look on her face and tears in her eyes. I thought she was very good in the scene with the Blackfish when she is talking about Bran and Rickon. 3. Peter Dinklage: Tyrion's trial and his reaction shots during the fight with the Viper and the Mountain. 4. Richard Madden: Rains, Kissed By Fire and the episode where he finds out about Ned's death. 5. Charles Dance: My personal favorite scene is with him skinning the stag and talking to Jaime. 6. Nikolaj-So good in all of season 3, I will say his performance in Kissed by Fire was also stellar 7. Maisie-My favorite of her is where she meets the Brotherhood Without Banners and asks if they can bring back a man without head. Absolutely heartbreaking. And her work in Mhysa which has been her best work on the show so far. 8. Sophie-Definitely episodes 1&2 of season 4. 9. Pedro Pascal-Loved the snark in the Lion and the Rose and I thought his performance where he tells Tyrion he will be his champion to be a good one and his work in the Mountain vs. the Viper elevated what I found to be an average episode. 10. Liam Cunningham, absolutely love his scenes with Shireen
The others are good but those are the actors and their scenes that resonated with me the most.
