This episode gave me life. IDGAF the pace was slower and that it was mainly set-up, my baby girl is back and has Needle and is gonna kick that bitch Waif's ass  101% agreed. The pace hit the sweet spot imo. Actually, this may be my second favorite episode of the season (after "The Door"). The Horn Hill and Braavos segments are relentlessly excellent. I never cared much for Sam's storyline but the Horn Hill bits were like something from twisted Jane Austen, I was totally hooked. King's Landing, Riverlands and Beyond the Wall were very compelling. Dany was my least favorite but at that point I was hyped to the core and the Bardenas scenery is surreal. |

I'll belatedly join in on the Benjen hype with one of these.  He killed those wights with amazing efficiency. That little flaming ball and chain device of his was pretty damned cool. I knew it was him from leaks and whatnot but was worried there'd be a recast, so ass soon as I saw his forehead I knew it was Mawle and was very relieved. The guy's distinctive-looking. I thought he'd just be regular Benjen but seeing his hands in that first scene I realized they were Coldhandsy. So, not long after fans figure out Coldhands isn't Benjen in the books, the show makes him him anyways. Which was a good move tbh and if he doesn't pop up in the books somehow now I'll be quite disappointed. |
