Shit, we're gonna be getting another awkward family dinner in this episode almost like Sansa with the Boltons.

Shit, we're gonna be getting another awkward family dinner in this episode almost like Sansa with the Boltons. Randyll Tarly is actually my most hated character from the books. More than Tywin, Walder, Ramsay, etc. I just have a soft spot for Sam (the stuff with Brienne didn't help either), so I hate Randyll with a passion.

Yeah, I feel like he's gonna rip Sam apart, especially since he won't be expecting his return or for him to be with Gilly. I mean Sam has spoken up for himself before at The Wall and could find the courage to stand up to his father at least to defend Gilly, but Randyll is far more antagonizing than any of the characters who were there and also a massive asshole, so I'm not really sure what Sam will do.

Fuck Randyll. How many White Walkers has he killed? None. But yeah I think Sam will definitely bring that up along with killing a Thenn.

I'm sure y'all have already talked about this, but from the title I just assumed that Dany would choose/get her bloodriders. Or what else could happen in Dany's storyline for 6x06? In fact, not much is known about Dany between 06x06 and 06x09. We only know that there is some kind of clash between Khals in the desert, and that's it. I suppose we'll get some travel scenes while she tries to strength her leadership over the Khalasar. Well there should be something with Drogon too (maybe next episode, maybe later). Whether that is just him flying over them...but I suspect we will at least see Dany interact with him in some way. I imagine for practical reasons though, actual dragon riding will be kept to a minimum on the show Shit, we're gonna be getting another awkward family dinner in this episode almost like Sansa with the Boltons. Randyll Tarly is actually my most hated character from the books. More than Tywin, Walder, Ramsay, etc. I just have a soft spot for Sam (the stuff with Brienne didn't help either), so I hate Randyll with a passion. I get overly passionate when people start with the "He wasn't that bad a father, it was normal by those standards..." Etc. Um, please point to other lords chaining up their sons and threatening to murder them. I'll wait... Shit, we're gonna be getting another awkward family dinner in this episode almost like Sansa with the Boltons. I'm not expecting Gilly to throw poor timed shade all over the place, though I do expect some fairly awkward lines though. Gilly's dialogue is not the best

Even Tywin only wanted Tyrion dead, he never said that nothing would please him more than killing his own son like an animal.

If not for Craster I think Randyll would be the worst father in the story.

I don't care how badass he is, he's a scumbag. Gregor is a badass too, doesn't make him anymore likeable. Craster is worse than Stannis. How many of his children did he kill and rape?

Plus Craster and Randyll didn't need any convincing to do what they did, unlike Stannis.

If not for Craster I think Randyll would be the worst father in the story. I think I agree Craster is worse than Randyll Tarly but there are lots of terrible Fathers in this story - seems to be a theme, along with incest. Hmmm... (Are you trying to tell us something George?) I do like the actor they've cast for Randyll - he looks appropriately menacing and reminds me somewhat of the same stern/cruel face as Tywin. I loved Tywin Lannister a lot so I expect Randyll Tarly to be similar but more despicable in personality. The dinner scene will be great much as the awkward dinner scene for Sansa with the Boltons was great. These sorts of uncomfortable scenes really do well on this show. They nailed it with the awkwardness between Brienne, Davos and Mel too.

Stannis did what the did because he believed that was the only way to win the Iron Throne, and then the White Walkers. What's one girl against a kingdom? Craster is a cruel monster, but I'd say Randyll is worse than him.
Randyll takes sadistic delight in bullying Sam, he chained the poor boy for wanting to be a maester, he whipped him, he made him bath in blood so he would become brave, he even threw Sam from a boat, to see if the boy knew how to swim. Not to mention his famous "A good raping would do you good" to Brienne.
Randyll is one of the most hateful characters in the entire series, and I've been waiting for him to die since Sam told about his father in S1/AGoT. But yes, he is still a badass.
EDIT: I hope Euron kills him
