Carice is continuing her winning streak. Vulnerable Mel is an acting coup for her. Though now I guess she'll get arrogant again. Pilou gets credit for making a great first impression. McElhatton, Webster and Malahide for leaving great last impressions. Alfie and Sophie for keeping up and capping off their great chemistry and characters' relationship with a very emotional scene. NCW, of course. And Iwan, who nailed those gruesome scenes and really arrived at an acting moment he'd been building up to since ep. 402.

My MVP's this week: Carice Van Houten who has done beautiful work these last two episodes. Alfie Allen for nailing that goodbye scene with Sansa.

I really liked Peter Dinklage. And Jonothan Pryce.
Meera was excellent, as was Yara, Sophie and Lena. Carice is probably the stand-out here though.
Also Pilou, great first impression.

Iwan Rheon, Lena Headey, Michael McElhatton, and Peter Dinklage.
And the newcomer Pilou Asbak of course.

Yeah I don't even know why I left Peter off my original list since that was obviously my favorite scene I've been gushing about ever since it aired and I've been anticipating it since we first got trailer shots of him looking up at a dragon with the torch ... Peter did a great job with the dragons. It's tough to bring out emotion when you're basically looking at a giant green blob. Both he and Emilia have done a good job making it believable.

Carice van Houten. Melisandre has gone from being the most otherworldly character to the most real, somehow She was brilliant. Runner-up would be Patrick Malahide. That man does rage like no one else in the show. And it's such a boring role.... a lesser actor wouldn't have bothered to bring it. But Malahide went out like a beast.

Carice Van Houten- she nailed arrogant, creepy Mel, and she's nailing broken, depressed Mel

Strong episode acting-wise this week. Big improvement over last season IMO. This week I'm rather torn between three scenes, each with a pair of actors: 1) Jaime/High Sparrow - Empire 2) Balon/Asha - Discussing the invasion 3) Mel/Davos - Miracles Don't think I could honestly choose between them. And the majority of the scenes were very well acted this episode IMO. There was only one major character and one minor character (Tyrion and Aeron) who I thought were particularly weak). So hats of all around to the performances

These two I really want to hug Sansa. Truly amazing scene. I won't say anything new, but Alfie Allen is a brilliant actor. You can see in that moment how he is thinking about the hell they have been through together. The pain, the fear, the utter sadness, the uncertain fate that awaits them...

Alfie is amazing. Learned on the season 5 commentaries he originally went out for Jon Snow, and they obviously felt he wasn't right for that part. They thought Theon would be a better fit, and the rest is history.
I like learning that kind of stuff. Iirc Iwan went out for Jon originally as well.

Instead of getting a spotlight on him for months like Kit, he's still rowing...

One person I think would have made an excellent Jon Snow had he only been 5 or so years older at the time Season 1 was filming is Isaac Hempstead-Wright. That boy has really grown into his looks and is really what I imagined the "Stark like" features from the books! He's a very handsome older Bran now!

Kit has more of the Stark look imo. I think Benjen looked the closest to the book description of the Starks, and Kit looks like he could be related to him irl.

I think it's the nose that does it for me more with Bran looking more like Benjen and the "long faced" Stark features than Jon, whose features seem more baby-face to me. He's still got a lot of Starkish-ness to him but I really like Bran's new mature look as a Stark.
