MeliSansa. I like StanSa better. Since IIRC MeliSansa exists only in my deranged mind, I prefer it to this one which I've heard about previously. It's mainly the product of Carice and Sophie being so goshdarned attractive and probably crossing paths in s6 that made me think this up. Which I guess is quite but I can't help my sorry self.

MeliSansa. I like StanSa better. A lot of hurtful things have been posted on this board over the last year. We have insulted each other. Called each other names. Wished ill upon other human beings. But nothing - nothing - as hurtful as this has ever been posted. I am in shock. (this is a joke)

I also think Sam and Gilly stay together to the end. I root for Jaime and Brienne. I'm sure one or both of them will die, but I hope they recognize their feelings beforehand. I also see Gendry and Arya being together after the war. I think they'll find each other again.

Oh, I just noticed this thread! Here are people I think will get together before they die or perhaps live to the end together:
Sam & Gilly Dany & Jon Brienne & Jaime & Cersei...Oh My! (I think he'll express love for Brienne but go back to deal with Cersei and die with her.) Arya & Gendry
I think there's a good chance Sansa & Tyrion might reunite for a while. I know that's not a sexy match, but they're still legally married, and they didn't dislike one another. I'm not sure how the legally married thing changes if Littlefinger marries her or marries her off to someone who consummates it.

I can't express enough my gratitude to everyone for not including that creepy nonsense couple called SanSan in this thread.

I can't express enough my gratitude to everyone for not including that creepy nonsense couple called SanSan in this thread. It may be creepy to some, but it's not nonsense. There's a basis for it in the text, and GRRM himself has admitted he's played with the idea.

SanSan is tough for me. I love Sandor, and he's clearly attracted to her. She represents all the sweet, lovely, innocent, and tender things in life that he never got to experience. And I think she finds him fascinating too, but definitely not attractive. She cares for him and is grateful to him, but still afraid of him. He's just too gruff, too unrefined. (And on the show, he's too old. Of course, so are most of her prospects.) I can see why people like the idea of these two opposites coming together _after she is older_, he protecting her, she softening his gruffness with love, Beauty and the Beast, but I think it's too fantasy-based and Sansa would never fall for him realistically. Despite the magic and dragons, people behave realistically and true to their characters in this world.

I'm late to the party on this one too like @witchy . SanSan is supposed to be a tragedy sort of unrequited love ... I think. Right? That's what makes it better than a real possibility. For me, I would love to see Arya and Gendry together as mentioned - that was such a wonderfully touching moment they added to the show. I always hoped he kept rowing and ended up on a ship to Braavos haha. For Sansa, I'd like to see her finally get together with a noble man that's actually going to treat her right. Her batting average from the show and books both is not good. I am struggling to think of a 'nice guy' who actually exists in the show and would actually be worthy and able to overcome all her suffering. She's going to be a stronger woman from all this pain but it will take some time. "Someday this pain will be useful to you" comes to mind. For Dany, I have no idea really on her either but she too deserves better than she's gotten in her journey through painful 'growing up' and all that. If they'd done Trystane differently I'd have loved to see her with a Dornish man! But the boy who just lost Myrcella is no match for Dany I think. Brienne and Jaime for sure but that's a long shot. Jon, sadly, with no one - just because he is what he is from here on out. *EDIT: Just realized this is a book discussion not show, sorry I mixed the two together - old habit! Since we're talking book characters, I'd say fAegon would be a nice match for Margaery... HAHAHA.

However, there is something there, it's definitely a Beauty and the Beast thing. In his home GRRM has a drawing of SanSan as Beauty and the Beast. This is the picture:

I think Sandor as we've seen him is probably too messed up for a healthy relationship with a woman of any age, so I think that's actually the biggest obstacle to the fairy-tale fantasies. I don't ship it but I think it's weird to deny there's anything there on either side in the books, and out of all of Sansa's inappropriate dynamics with older men, I think Sansan is better developed and more interesting than the other two, I just wouldn't want her to actually get together with any of them.

Yep. You pretty much perfectly summed up my thoughts. And now I feel even worse for Sandor. Sansa too, but she has a chance at happiness still, maybe.

I'm not a big shipper, and most relationships in Asoiaf are always screwed up one way or another. There was a time I shipped Arya and Gendry, and had they remain together I'd probably still ship them, but I feel like both of them have changed a lot since they last saw each other, and I'm not sure they would be a good match now. But I admit I'd like to see Gendry and Arya together in the show again, it was kind of fun watching Joe Dempsie squirm every time they asked him about Gendrya, poor guy clearly didn't want to play the love interest of an underage girl I also like Tyrion and Tisha before Tywin ruined everything, and Ned and Cat.
