That should have been his line months ago. "I filmed scenes for Jon's funeral" or something like that. Would have been more believable than "I'm not in season 6 at all". Now, it's just laughable....

Oh, and Jonathan Pryce is listed in the HBO credits for Episode 1! Sounds like he is the new addition to the main cast - the only one as far as I can see.

It's what he should've said in his interview with EW after 510. If only McShane was in his storyline, then he could cut through the bullshit and say, "Of course he comes back. Real early in the season too."

I just assume they keep her off the credits for Emmy reasons, so she can compete as "guest star". They might do the same for Pryce, but I doubt it, since he would have to be in less than 5 episodes to qualify.

And it's the first time someone will return to the opening credits after being absent for a season or more (Isaac). I doubt Rory McCann will get the same treatment - he'll probably guest star. Same for Sibel.

I think Rory will be a main star, because he was in the past, we all thought Charles Dance would be a guest star in 5.01 and he turned out to be counted as a series regular.

Well Charles Dance is Charles Dance, you can't really strip away his series regular status. I could see Rory returning to the opening credits because Sandor is alive and will hopefully be in more than an episode or two this season, but Sibel will probably guest star because she's just part of Tyrion hallucinations.

His return contained no surprises, though, a quick corpse appearance is different from a reveal he didn't actually die, especially when Sandor's been offscreen for an entire season. No one's gonna think his rotting corpse would make a random appearance. I think they'd want to keep his name out of his first ep back at least, so as not to spoil the surprise.

i know its more likely to avoid spoilers from getting out and preventing leaks...but part of me can't help but wonder whether they're avoiding screeners to avoid getting panned from critics

GoT isn't relying on people waiting for critic's reviews to decide to watch it or not.
