I wonder if they'll use this episode as some sort of contrast between the forced union of Ramsay and Sansa and the more mutual union(or has evolved into a mutual union) of Myrcella and Trystane, especially as this seems like our first real sense of them as a couple. Try and show the two opposite ends of forced marriage.

The chaos that ensues will be amazing. I can't wait for some folks in westeros.org to say that "It isn't rape, she isn't saying no!!" Somehow I think the rape apologists will be a bit less vocal than if Cersei was the victim or Tyrion a participant. Don't you know it's bad women who ask for it and nice guys who are never really rapists?

Because he managed to shoot a scene where a girl is dragged away from her screaming family by Nazis tastefully and subtly and deprived Fugitive Pieces from the book's horrific and unnecessarily scarring ending, so I imagine this whole Sansa scene will be brief, he is not a sadist, unlike the writers, apparently

I hope she kills him.

i'm not sure what will happen. but i think Sansa isn't ready for this, and if anyone can break a person its Ramsay. Sansa will break.
i don't know if it'll be 'rape' because by marrying Ramsay she knows the duty she has to perform. Ramsay being a psycho doesn't make much of a difference except it will be especially unpleasant. I wonder if Sansa will manipulate Ramsay into having a somewhat 'normal' wedding night.
I just really can't see how this is going to show her as a 'player' without some manipulation taking place. She's still LF's pawn!!

I see it as rape, because Sansa doesn't want to have sex with Ramsay. Very simple.

Yes she doesn't want to have sex with Ramsay, but she wants to be heir of Winterfell. She is giving her consent by first agreeing to marry him and second by going through with the marriage. BTW i am not condoning this storyline i personally hate it. But by our standards it is rape. in ASOIAF its just another marriage.

It is rape by our standards so I think we should call it that. I feel the women - and I hope men too - would feel slightly disgusted - I know I am - when there is a suggestion Sansa having have to consummate that thing is not rape.

I'm not looking forward to it at all but at least it has a good chance at not being completely awful with Cogman as the writer and Podeswa as director.

The wedding scene itself in the Godswood before the Weirwood should be good anyways. And Reek having to declare himself as being"Theon of the House Greyjoy, who was the ward of Eddard Stark" is the sort of guilty, existential angsty moment that Alfie sells so well.
The rest...we'll see.

This is supposed to be Dorne's big episode, but it'll be completely overshadowed by Sansa/Ramsay.

Dorne has been very underwhelming so far so even without all the inevitable mess from the Sansa/Ramsay stuff. It'll be about half the season with barely any Dorne which seems a bit odd if they intend it to be a place that has a big impact.

That would line up pretty well with what we know happens as far as the Dorne stuff. I like this good closeup of Mycella - it's the first we've seen of her up close this season. I like that her dress is Dornish style (loose and revealing) which to me indicates she is adopting their ways! Edit: I also like that she looks quite a bit like the girl who played Cersei for the Maggy prophecy scene - so she's a believable daughter for Cersei as a younger version of herself in looks ... do you think she will get Mom's attitude as an adult? Not likely, she seems to favor Tommen's ways more than Joffrey's.

We know from the 5x07 ep description that Sansa is seeking out Theon. It could depend what she wants him for, but if she wants his help for an escape, that doesn't sound "broken" to me. The 5x08 ep description is that Sansa "confronts" an old friend. "Confront" sounds fairly aggressive; that doesn't sound like someone who's broken. I think the "Unbroken" part of the 5x06 ep title will apply to Sansa as well.

Ramsay will torment her mentally Well depends on when the wedding is. its probably 506 so Sansa is seeking out Theon's help to escape winterfell just like Jeyne.

thats some cropping in your avatar Yeah, I guess it's pretty hypocritical of me to call that site pervy, innit?
I'll go back to Roose when the 505 promo pics come out and we get a new still of him but for now...I really love me some Carice.
