Well, the Season 4 ending is my second least favourite ending. I didn't like it either. But as Basil said, the scene on itself was not bad if one hadn't expected something big (LSH). What makes that scene bad is the omission of Stoneheart. Tyrion killing Tywin and Arya leaving behind Westeros would have made a fine ending if I hadn't expected Stoneheart. Not really, what makes the scene bad is that in no way something like this should be the end of a season for a show that is gone for 10 months a year. It just wasn't important enough. |

Season 4's ending was awful. I'm not even a LSH fan and I was pissed. Hell, anything would have been better than Arya on a boat. I just wonder if anything will top season 1's final scene for me. It will have to be something magnificent. Maybe even the final scene of the series. I loved a lot of things about season 1 (especially Ned's storyline), but that final scene is what made me read the books. I was blown away. Same here. After that scene, I knew this would not be just a TV series to me anymore. I actually bought the books a day after seeing that episode. So I mark that scene as the exact point at which the ASOIAF universe became an obsession for me. |

I think for seasons 1, 2 and 5 they chose the right scenes to end on. I undersand they couldnt have the battle at the fist of the first men, and i still absolutely loved that episode when i saw it. However i feel like 5's ending was poorly executed and i didnt like the exclusion of ghost or the pink letter, since this could have easily been set up.
Season 4 was just an inappropriate ending, i didnt think they should have felt the need to end on a high note. Actually, ending on Tyrion and Varys would have been awesome, especially if they had kept the intense fight between jaime and tyrion. That or jons appointment as lord commander of the nights watch would have worked. Or ending on the nights king transforming the baby!
I didnt mind season 3's ending. The mhysa score is one of my favourite tracks. But again they could have ended somewhere else, that jaime cersei scene was good where they just look at each other. They could have also placed in there the scene where balon dies, i think its just long overdue now.

I will agree with the general consensus about Season 1's ending, the birth of the dragons being the best season end by far. It really cemented for me this series and made me eager to know what the rest of the series had to offer. Every time I see a gif of Dany and the birth of the dragons on Tumblr I have to reblog it, just because of it's pure awesomeness.

Could anything be more perfect? Everything about it is perfect. IMO the other season-enders are all varying levels of meh.
