Thought the premiere was brilliant!!! Look forward to seeing how Ann Dowd will come back into it. If I had to guess I'd say she'll haunt Kevin as they hinted at that last season. Pretty sure he could see her on the couch when he was staring.

Is it worth seeing or is it a bit like Lost where it goes nowhere?

Is it worth seeing or is it a bit like Lost where it goes nowhere? Everybody here has praised it, so I'd say definitely watch it. It's my second favorite show currently.

But I do think there's a very good chance it will be like Lost, in that we will want copious answers to mysteries and will only get partial answers.

I think them changing the intro to "Let The Mystery Be" is definitely a sign of that.

I think the Leftovers is doing right what Lost got wrong. In lost the mysteries were often just empty teases for the audience or something to confuse and create mystery. In the Leftovers it's kind of obvious we won't get answers but its not really the point. The mysteries are uses to say something about the characters.
I also think Leftovers is a bit like a last chance saloon for Lindeolof but so far he's nailing it.

I used to love LOST - I remember always getting up extra early on the morning on Thursday to watch the episode before classes but then the sixth season happened

I was the same ! I've come to forgive it slightly now. The show did give us Juliet, one of my fave tv characters but I wish s6 hadn't been so plot heavy if they were just going to dupe us and reveal it was all about the characters

Only just got to watch the premiere and it really was astounding. The visual storytelling is brilliant, which is something pretty rare with the plot-heavy nature of television, and all of the new characters are instantly well-defined and compelling. How they managed to just drastically change the tone so effortlessly is beyond me. Can't wait to see where it goes.
Edit: Oh another thing, Nora shouting 'The pie!' made me think of Margaery at the Purple Wedding so much and considering Lindelof is a self-confessed GoT fan, I'm thinking that wasn't just coincidence.

Yeah it was. So Patty is in Kevin's head, I wonder how that will play out.

Yeah it was. So Patty is in Kevin's head, I wonder how that will play out. Well, it looks like it drove him to a suicide attempt, so.... Carrie Coon continues to kill it in this show. She was the highlight of the episode for me. She really needs to be in more stuff.

This is probably nothing but didn't the guy in the miracle tower send a letter to Sydney in the premeire and Kevin Sr said he's going to Australia? Just something I noticed.

Forgot to comment on how awesome it was that Kevin was listening to Where Is My Mind by the Pixies. One of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite bands.
