^I don't know how anyone can not be sad about Rickon's death when they see S1 photos/gifs of him. That's how he looked the last time Jon and Sansa saw him. He was so small, and they never got to see what he was like as he grew up.

I love how people blame Bran disobeying his mother and climbing up that tower as what started the wars that eventually got his father and brother killed. But you know, they ignore the fact that Littlefinger had Jon Arryn killed then had Lysa blame it on the Lannisters. By all means, let's just blame the kid that got thrown out the window.

Or Jaime and Cersei's incest which basically left bastards to inherit the throne. How about Cersei have some trueborn children of Robert's and then maybe this wouldn't have been such a shit storm. I hate that Bran gets blamed too or Catelyn for capturing Tyrion...um all Littlefinger people. If someone should be blamed, it should be LITTLEFINGER.

He was so small, and they never got to see what he was like as he grew up. Who wasn't sad!?! It was incredibly sad. I did say in the initial reaction thread that Wun Wun's death was sadder, but I think that's because I knew Rickon was going to die, and I thought Wun Wun would get to fight in the final battles. I'm just glad Rickon and Osha were not tortured, raped, or flayed. That's nearly a happy ending!

Sadly, I've seen a lot of people blame Bran because he sent Rickon away with Osha to the Umbers, and it's ridiculous. Bran sent his brother to what was a safe place, to a house that was very loyal to the Starks. There's no way he could've known or even imagined that the Umbers would end up being traitorous assholes (pardon my French). Bran made the best and wisest decision there was at the time.

The Bran tag on tumblr is a bit of a mess with memes like that. The post about blaming him for the war of the five kings was in there too. I block a lot of people. lol

Blaming characters for actions they make that indirectly lead to the deaths of people they love and then hating them for it is so freaking immature. That element of the fandom makes me nuts. The characters can't see the big picture like we can. They are IN the story. Of course, getting hung up on who to blame and who to hate for things is the lowest form of character analysis, anyway. We all engage in some of it, but real analysis requires that you're able to understand we're talking about fictional characters who were written to do things by someone with a grand vision of what could happen.
