I'm certainly no fan of book Stannis, but Dillane really was great in the role. Say what you will about the writing, and choices made for the character, but to me Stephen Dillane IS Stannis Baratheon.

Him, Charles Dance, Michelle Fairley and Sean Bean were the four character who clicked for me from the start. But I think I already did a post about this. |

I'm not a big fan of Stannis either (I don't hate him, he's just not among my favourites) - but yes, I absolutely agree, Dillane was brilliant and I'm going to miss him on the show. He had such great chemistry with Carice van Houten and Liam Cunningham, too. |
