BTW in honor of Wes Craven I watched my Scream bluray last night and just had to make a Matthew Lillard gif and post it here:

I recommend "The Cabin In the Woods" for horror fans who haven't seen it. It's a horror movie watcher's movie. I LOVE The Cabin in the Woods. I essentially forced everyone I know to watch it and only two didn't like it. And they have shit taste in movies anyways.

If you don't mind frequent and extremely obnoxious jump scares, go watch Drag Me to Hell, it's one of my favourites. It's so gruesome and macabre that it almost becomes comical, but the atmosphere is very creepy and there is one particular scene towards the end that is so freaking awesome, it makes the entire movie worthwhile. I haven't seen that yet but it's by Sam Raimi who made one of the greatest horror movies ever: Evil Dead 2.

I remember watching Drag Me to Hell in the theater and thinking that it is campy as hell, but very entertaining.

So it's a rainey day and I'll be watching a horror movie again tonight. If you could only recommend one that won't disappoint what would it be?

Just watched Trick 'R Treat. Heard it's a cult classic and been meaning to watch it for a long time. I enjoyed it. Starting The Crazies now and didn't know Olyphant was in it. Nice surprise.

The Green Inferno is finally in theaters, I've been waiting over a year to see this. I hope it lives up to the hype it got at TIFF so long ago.

It's apparently a big influence on the movie, along with other Italian Cannibal films. I give credit to Cannibal Holocaust for being the first found footage film on record, but I abhor the production for killing real animals in the movie. A monkey, a turtle, and others I can't remember were slaughtered for the film. I don't think that's justifiable for art. They didn't kill the people in the movie, so spend a little bit of money and make some special effects instead of killing innocent animals.

Yes, Eli Roth said he drew a lot of inspiration from that movie. It is absolutely disgusting that they killed those animals for real. I think they actually killed two turtles because someone messed up the first take. it's sick. I will give Deodato credit for making his human killings look realistic enough that they actually arrested him and made his actors show up in court to prove they were still alive. That's pretty wild. Green Inferno seems like it will be pretty brutal, but not as brutal as CH.

Turtles live a long time, too, they might actually still be alive today if a sleazy film crew didn't want to make a shitty horror movie. If I could go back in time I'd punch those Italians in the face.

I refuse to watch any movie where they killed real animals or intended to do so (Von Trier's Manderlay).
That said Roth is a very good filmmaker and this is one of those movies that me and my friend will watch because whenever there is something revolting out there we are just too curious not to see it

Green Inferno seems to be getting between poor-mediocre reviews. That added to the opinion of a friend of mine who I generally trust when it comes to movies I think I'll skip this one. At least in theaters.
