This is the best bowl by far. Confirmed now that the High Sparrow rules Westeros. So, how many religions are likely to come to blows? We have the Seven, led by the Sparrow. Does he have all the Seven, or will there be hold-outs (like that Catholic/Protestant split)? There are the old gods, who I expect will be represented by Bran, the direwolves, and random magic; there are the white walkers (who knows how they exist or what their belief system is); there's R'hllor, and it seems every R'hllor devotee supports a slightly different interpretation of what it all means and who the savior is. There are the faceless men. There's Euron's drowned god, if he still believes in it. And there's whatever the warlocks believe, which he may hold to instead. It really is going to get crazy. I expect the main conflict to be between the reformed Faith, R'hllorists (led by Mel and Kinvara) and the Old Gods religion through Bran or Bloodraven. It may get more simplified if R'hllor is revealed to be an idea engineered by the greenseers (there are theories that Bloodraven gives Mel her visions, for instance). So essentially it could boil down to the anthropomorphic Faith of the Seven versus the nature religions of the North. The white walkers could be the wildcard here since they seem to oppose both human and non-human life. I don't think they are religious in any way though. I've no doubt Jaqen and Aeron will play a role, too, especially with all the time dedicated to the Faceless Men and (in season 6) the Iron Islands. I love the idea of a religious conflict being the endgame of the series. After all, this is an end of the world scenario, so it makes sense that politics would quickly give way to more desperate and primitive conflicts.
