Benioff screwed up in the video. He said Stannis and Melisandre's first scene in burning people alive on the beach. They were burning wooden idols...

Speaking of Tyrion at the end, what do you guys think he'll do next week?

Speaking of Tyrion at the end, what do you guys think he'll do next week? I'm guessing he's going to start taking care of things in Mereen while Dany's away.

Probably - although I wonder how they'll work it out without the attacks from Yunali. Also, did anyone catch when Hiz was talking to Dany they sort of discussed the destruction of Meereen (when it becomes dust). Will Dany be destroying Meereen?

Even if Shireen dies in the books, it will be by Melisandre's hand during the chaos on the Wall. The show version was a thousand times more cruel, with Stannis allowing and watching it. Nope. Benioff says in the above video that it's Stannis that GrrM told them would do it.

Just to get the exact quote:
"When George first told us about this, it was one of those moments when I remember looking at Dan and was just like, "that's so horrible" but so good in a story sense because it all comes together, you know. From the beginning, from the very first time we saw Stannis and Melisandre they were sacrificing people, they were burning people alive on the beaches of Dragonstone [sic] and it's really all come to this. There's been so much talk about king's blood and the power of king's blood and it all leads fatally to Shireen's sacrifice. And it's one of the most horrible scenes we've shot, just in terms of the emotion of it."

Thanks! Well, that's bad. I'm off the Stannis ship in both medias then. Still, this was the kind of scene that didn't make me mad at the show, but at the characters involved - which means good writing and acting. I just hate Stannis now. For me to root for the Boltons, well it means something. Ramsay can still die, though

Except that they weren't sacrificing anyone in their very first scene. Those were only wooden statues of the Seven.

Benioff says in the above video that it's Stannis that GrrM told them would do it. "Stannis would do it" different from "Stannis does it" GRRM has set it up in the book so its impossible for Stannis to be there when it actually goes down. My guess is that Melisandre orchestrates it and Selyse lets it happen. I'm sure if GRRM wanted Stannis to do it he would've actually done what the show did and have his family go with him on the march to Winterfell. Who cares it doesn't even matter. What the show just did was stupid, and for shock value. It's not even the right time for her death. And thats all on D&D, their decisions. They didn't need to stick to the books at all on this one.

Speaking of Tyrion at the end, what do you guys think he'll do next week? Well the first thing I hope Tyrion does is bitchslap Daario the way he bitchslapped Joffrey. Seriously. I love that actor and his hot body but man I do NOT like Daario ... almost less than I liked the fruitcake version from the book and I did not think that possible. But anyways - the inside the episode reveal actually shocked me into hating the Shireen thing worse because now I know it's actually true to book and that feels so awful. I really thought Stannis was going to ditch that red bitch at some point. I truly did.

Book Stannis won't burn Shireen. Period. And if he will, it'll be against the Others, not the Boltons.

I don't think Benioff would've mentioned GrrM telling them about the scene if they'd altered it that much. It's pretty clear to me that he describes it as the climax of all of the setup in Stan's storyline because it's Stan, in the end, who allows it. I'm sure the circumstances around it are quite different, but there you have it. Though, of course, we won't know with absolute uncertainty until TWOW comes out. So let's not hold our breath.
