This would have been funny if the other Lannister hadn't lost

Breaking Bad's "worst" season is still really amazing based on normal standards. But really, BB should've won the year before for S3, but everyone had a Homeland boner that year. I think you're right about the audience expecting Mad Men, and I'm not sure if many themselves watch GoT. They probably just heard all the SJWs crying about rape scenes and didn't focus on anything else. I just looked this up so apparently the year Homeland won, Breaking Bad was nominated for Season 4 and two years earlier, Mad Men won while Breaking Bad was nominated for Season 3. This doesn't seem to make sense, but I guess since Season 4 premiered later in the year than Season 3, it wasn't nominated at all during the year that Mad Men won for the 4th consecutive time. Yes! I forgot about that. One of the seasons of Breaking Bad didn't start until July so it was ineligible one year. I think the same thing happened to True Blood (Not that it was Emmy worthy in the later seasons) Eh, the point I was trying to make is the Emmys are probably going to award Game of Thrones a ton of shit to make up for what they didn't do earlier.

I think you're right about the Emmys awarding GoT now because they might have not taken them seriously as a drama at first since award shows in general don't recognize fantasy too often. I still think that they could have won for Season 1 or 3 though. If I really had to rank the seasons after rewatches it would go: 1, 4, 3, 5, 2, but I think Season 3 is probably the most underrated season of the show. It barely gained any recognition, probably because Breaking Bad had already conquered the other nominees, so I still consider GoT win on sunday night as a win for its previous seasons as well.

Thought Ramin Djawadi was nominated this year but no. Has been nominated once, odd , wonder why not more more times? Why hasn't he won for the show?

Kit? The past? Give this man another Emmy! They're all getting really good at this game now. Took them awhile after Season 5 ended but now they have their smokes and mirrors tactics down pat. Winning performance!

I have to admit that I kind of respect Cogman a bit more than D&D.

I have to admit that I kind of respect Cogman a bit more than D&D. I always thought that was a very common opinion. He's certainly a more humble figure than D and D or GrrM. But really I think that comes down to how many episodes they all do a year and the amount of time that can be put into them. Because Cogman was just Benioff's assistant who they upgraded to staff writer (as happened again with Dave Hill) rather than a novelist or professional writer to begin with. But still because he can put more time into his (now) two episodes, he's seen as a much more consistent writer. Where D and D do seven, or really three-and-a-half each because they write separately, so there is more of a hit-and-miss quality to them. Still though, I think D and D still have more great episodes under their belt than Cogman...they just also have more mediocre ones there too. If he did a comparable amount of episodes as they did though, I think people's opinions on their abilities in relation to one another would even out.
