Did anybody else notice how different Tywin looks in the first scene (with Cersei) and his last (in the privy)?
In the first scene, there's a very lively Tywin. Ready to do anything. And in the privy, he's got hollow cheeks and stuff. And he looks old and worn.
Okay. D&D aged him up. Charles Dance was actually 67 when these scenes were shot.
Btw. great make up of course.

I thought everyone looked tired as hell in those last sequences - must have been the lightening in dungeon/chamber. I kinda hate how they handled Tywin's death, I enjoyed that he was cruel and ruthless to Tyrion to the very end in the books

I missed Tysha.
But then, of course, Tysha was only mentioned once on the show (in "Baelor"), so D&D likely cut that because of the Unsullied.
I prefer the book version as well.
Show!Tyrion and Show!Tywin looked tired, I agree.

Tiredness could be explained with a rushed schedule.
IMO Tywin was better on the show, but his death was handled better in the books. It was weird not seeing the "wherever whores go"- line. So we won't see Tyrion actually searching for Tysha (it's one of his primary motivations in the books), he also didn't even hear the truth from Jaime. Hope this doesn't mean that they'll keep Tysha as a whore on the show. Will the Unsullied ever learn the truth?

I'm a hobby archer, and I felt sorry for Tywin. Not because I'm a Lannister supporter.
The crossbow Tyrion uses makes me want to shoot with a crossbow once.
I don't know if it was in the script or not but NCW seemed reluctant when Jaime and Tyrion parted for good.
Perhaps the Tysha issue will be one of the big surprises (positive and/or negative) on the show and in the books.
I actually like book! and show!Tywin.

I just think that whole entire scene was just ruined. The lack of Tysha was understandable, but "Operation: Let's Hide the Fact That Tyrion is Actually a Dick" went into overdrive when he killed Shae in self defense and then cried about it afterwards.

@kingtyrioni I liked Tywin as well, one of my favorite characters, such a boss.
The whitewashing of Tyrion on the show is absolutely embarrassing. I like bookTyrion because he's so complex, but the show one is a knight from the fairy tales. Just like you said Shae attacked him so Tyrion killing her could be counted as self defense.. I'm 100% sure that he won't do the nasty stuff he did in the books after he killed Tywin & Shae (raping slaves etc.).

@ fireandblood: I agree. Show!Tyrion could be darker and more like his book!version. I wouldn't call him a "dick" though.
And please, this thread's about show!Tywin and his final episode in s4. Keep that in mind.
We can discuss show!Tyrion and book!Tyrion elsewhere.

The scene where he flays the stag or rides into Harrenhal and the throne room. :spreadlove:It was sad to see his power collapse in the last episode. Cersei told the truth about his legacy and he got killed by his own son. God damn it, he deserved a more glorious death scene. Rest in peace, you magnificent lion!

It's like they think the GA are too dumb to root for complex characters. I always expected them to leave out the Tysha mention, but it still sucked. That was another layer that made everything so interesting. And she was mentioned once in the show before, so there really wasn't a reason to include her. I guess they really didn't want Jaime and Tyrion to part on a bad note?

We won't have Tyrion moaning and being a rapey cunt. His story line will be massively sped up. He will meet Dany this season (trusting by the leaked photos)

In the commentaries they are always all over her "what Lean does here is just amazing", "Lena is the perfect actor to work with" x1000000 + nothing about any of the rest of the cast. Although come to think of it that may be one of the directors rather than D&D, it's been a while since I listened to them. Either way, whoever it was, it was a bit much.

She is wonderful in the part and this is another things that get on my nerves - why not give her more challenging material? They insist of giving her all those soapy scenes where she cares about her kids, they should show Cersei's cruelty and evil - that is more challenging to play

I don't trust D&D's talk about actors. They said JJ Murphy was the best Ser Denys they could've hoped for and he just sat there. They are shallow.
