1/10 is winning in the poll thread on Westeros.org is really the only way to react to AFOIAF at this point. I'd but it hurts my head too much. Wait, Westeros.org is still online? Thought they usually crashed around now

Errr could someone explain to me what was so bad about Dorne, again. The fight scene was good and once again there was barely any dialogue to criticise. It was fine. What I do agree with is that there should have been more set up for that confrontation.

I kind of zoned out on Arya's HOBAW stuff in the books. Does she get to see all the faces there?

1/10 is winning in the poll thread on Westeros.org I'm boycotting this week for the most part. People are only angry because Martin didn't write it...not because of who it is, what happened or how it was done. Your lovely 'Positive Nitpick' thread is going to be thin on the ground this episode. Everybody was ready to start screaming and yelling before the episode even happened. As a noobie said over there earlier: 'I watch the show with all my friends, then come here, and its like an alternate universe.'
Stay here with us, we love you!

BTW, Iain Glenn's acting when Jorah finds out about his father was sublime.

I liked the conversation between Jorah and Tyrion about Dany. I think Tyrion made some fair points as to why Dany should be entitle to the throne, wonder when we'll have the second part of that conversation. Perhaps that's when she gives the wheel, speech.

Tumblr is probably the site filled with the most reactionary and over-sensitive people on the web Why would anyone even go there?

So apparently D&D's faces are in the Hall and the one that Arya touches is the lead prosthetic fellow's mum.

I kind of zoned out on Arya's HOBAW stuff in the books. Does she get to see all the faces there? Yeah but after she meets Sam and is Cat and stuff. Before the blindness *I think*...

I wish they would have actually established the Sand Snakes as characters instead of essentiallyj making them fighting robots. Let's see if they can change my mind about this in the last 4 episodes....

One of the problems you always have fighting 3v2 or 1v2 etc is how to choreograph the fact you have people standing around while one person does nothing.
They really made Barristan's fight scene work amazingly well for having 1 person fight a dozen. Here... it had moments of great, for about one second, like when Bronn's arm gets wrapped, and pulled away, and then boom, weird shaky cuts to where I don't know who is fighting who, or what is going on... They were all wearing the same reptilian scaled armor which didn't help.
Although I found the armor style kind of fitting because we were treated to a nice intro scene where Splinter is meeting the Ninja Turtles in the sewers, and then she sends them out into the light, but then I was like, hey, there's only three of you. You forgot Michelangelo.

Thanks. I put the positive nitpicking thread up as a way to inject some positivity into an overwhelmingly negative site, so I don't care if it doesn't get much response. I do enjoy the discourse here very much, though ^^ Honestly, I don't even bother with most of the show threads over there anymore. I will say that the Dornish scenes were rather hilarious, intentionally and unintentionally. But honestly, I'm not bothered by a few subpar scenes in the midst of some of the best work this season. For an episode without either Dany or Jon or Stannis, it was a very strong episode.

I realize that stories need to have coincidences happen in order to advance things but it was pretty hard to swallow that after seeing them days ago state their intention to get to Myrcella, both groups happened to converge on her at the exact same time.

Imagine if they didn't have the awesome Bronn and Jaime stuff in Dorne this season and they just left everyone else there to their own devices? That wouldn't have been pretty.

I like Bronn and Jaime there. I like Doran and Areo. Ellaria is fine and Trystane and Myrcella are ok. Even the Sandsnakes are digestable if you don't take them that seriously. Maybe it's just the lack of screentime so far but the story just seems so unsubstantial. I feel like every single thing that is happening there is just killing time before we get Doran giving Jaime his big speech to reveal his plan at the end of the season. Everything else leading up to it is people trying to execute really lame and not-well-thought-out plots.

I don't dislike Dorne. I mostly just think the Sand Snakes are poor characters. The Jaime/Bronn pairing is fun, and what little of Doran there's been has been good, but that may just be because I'm a Siddig fan.

Everything was good except the Sand Snakes and... I know if I was trying to kidnap a princess I'd definitely do it in broad daylight where my uncle's men or anyone else could intervene, wouldn't you? What a great plan that was, how did it go wrong?!
