Patiently waiting for DaveyJoe to post his review Sorry for the delay. I might have mentioned that I killed my internet to save money, I have very high heating bills over the winter. I watched the premier at my friends house on Sunday night, but I'll likely get the internet back at my house before the season ends, thanks to my promotion. I wasn't sure if I should post some generic thoughts on what I could remember from Sunday night, or wait until I can rewatch it at home and do the epic, drunken, gif-laden reviews from previous years...

Got around to finally write the review after rewatching the episode. I liked it. It's not perfect, but it's far from terrible as it's way better than half of season 7. Cons: - The transitions between scenes are very rush. I have a hard time explaining this, but like each scene jump to another very quick that it doesn't give some time to breath. The Greyjoy scene in particular. I loved the Greyjoys and I enjoyed Theon's and Yara's chemistry, but I wasn't expecting the scene to be this anti-climatic. - Dislike the Jon and Dany's scenes riding on the dragons. What's the point of this? It's out of place and It's so bizarre that this happened right after Bran told them they have no time to waste - but let's have fun riding on the dragons. Pros: - The reunions between the characters are well-done and I'm glad they didn't leave most out with few exceptions (coughGhostcough). Tyrion and Sansa, Jon with Arya and Bran, Arya with Gendry and Sandor, Sam and Jon. Sam and Jon, and Bran and Jaime scenes are my favorite from this episode. - I enjoyed the scenes with the Northerners. I know a lot of people have issues with this given how quick they behaved toward Jon, but I do enjoyed this storyline. It highlighted that not everyone is going to be on Jon and Dany's side despite their good intentions. Side note: Great jump scare with Ned Umber. That one got me. 8/10

I may try to do a deeper review of the episode later, but TBH I've playing Arya's reunion scenes non-stop and haven't paid attention to much else For the moment just let me share this gif from the Arya/Gendry reunion because I love it: If you just see the scene is not that obvious because they cut to Arya pretty quickly, but in gif form you're able to see Gendry's WTF just happened face. He can't believe he just saw Arya again and she just acted all confident and flirty. And he likes it. I'm not saying Gendrya will happen because you never know who will die or what will happen with this show, but after last season (with Arya being in No One mode until her last scene and the whole Frey debacle) I love how open and emotional Arya was in this episode. I love that Gendry cracked her cold demeanor with the "m'lady" reference, and as someone who has seen the Princess Bride the "as you wish" makes me suspicious (not saying it has the same meaning because I know it doesn't, just makes me wonder if they included it is as a wink). Anyway I just enjoy Gendry's face in that gif. It's priceless.
