Honestly even after playing it only once 17 years ago I'll never forget the ending with Vivi. Check out my living room mantle:  Omg, that's super cute!  Vivi is the heart of FF9. There are two scenes in particular that will always make me cry, no matter how many times I replay this game. The first one is the death of Queen Brahne. That's such a fascinating scene, because on one hand, you can't help but to hate Brahne. She is responsible for some of the worst atrocities in the entire series, the attacks on Burmecia and Lindblum, the complete annihilation of Cleyra. But then she dies, and of course Dagger cries for her mother, and we witness that entire scene from Vivi's POV. His dialogue is absolutely beautiful. "I don't know why Bahamut attacked the one who summoned him, but we found Queen Brahne on the beach, next to her escape pod. She could hardly move, and I thought she'd come to a stop any second. I hate Kuja a lot, but I hate Brahne a lot, too ... so much that I wanted this to happen to her. I should be happy, but ... once I saw Dagger start to cry, I didn't know how I should feel ...  The other one, of course, is the ending. As heartbreaking as it is, I appreciate the fact that the game never sugercoats the reality of Vivi's condition. The fact that he, as an artificially created black mage, has an incredibly short life span. Although Vivi does not survive the events of the game, and never reunites with Zidane, the impact he had on those around him has carried forward. I think that is much more powerful and meaningful than if they had found a way to extend his life. His entire journey has been about learning how to deal with existential dread and the search for meaning and salvation. If he had survived, that would have undermined and cheapened his entire character arc. When the Black Mages found out about their short life span, Vivi didn't know what to say to make them feel better. "All I can do ... is just sit with them." he said. That's really powerful stuff. I'm so happy I met everyone. I wish we could have gone on more adventures, but I guess we all have to say goodbye someday. Everyone, thank you, farewell. My memories will be part of the sky.  |

There is an awesome little detail in FF9. Whenever you control Zidane, his character model will sometimes automatically turn its head in the direction of passing female NPCs. |

One of my favourite pieces from FF9's soundtrack, it conveys such a beautiful feeling of sadness and melancholy.

I leveled a monk, they are awesome, but probably the hardest rotation in the game, at least from the classes I've played(Dragoon, Bard, Paladin, Warrior, White Mage, Black Mage, and Summoner).   |

I'm interested in getting into FF14, I talked to my brother recently and he's also thinking about playing it. It would be neat to play together. I've never played any mmo's, I don't really know how any of it works exactly. |

I'm considering starting back up again after the OHC is over and I've completed my video(so mid November). They recently put out an expansion that brings Samurai and Red Mages to the game. I know there are English and Japanese servers, but I can't remember if Europe has their own. Either way if you get the game let me know, I'll do a little research and see if we can all get on the same server.

Final Fantasy VII Abridged is back! Really worth watching, it's fucking hilarious and the voice acting is top notch. Barret naming all the ridiculous types of Bahamut during the entirety of Cloud's tale was the best part.
