Ah, what a subtle hint. She's clearly implying that Bran gets to Winterfell quickly and screws with time to put everyone in the future, allowing the UN to settle this battle peacefully.

Why the fuck are there no real synopses? If they're afraid of the synopses spoiling the episodes, I think "Battl of the Bastards" as a title gives a pretty good idea what this one includes. Ultimate suspense. We'll be entirely blind (we those of us who haven't betrayed our duty ). I quite like this move.

They rode to all the nearby houses they could. Jon refusing to go to Castle Cerwyn last week kinda made it obvious that they weren't going anywhere else. Going all the way to White Harbor would be an crazy long trip, especially when they're already concerned with the weather. They mentioned sending ravens around, so really that's all they could do. Yeah, but that's just because D&D wanted to do it like this and make the Starks the underdogs. They could've easily set up a meeting with several lords at the same time at a hidden location, like we expected until a few weeks ago. They could've also made Sansa ride out of camp with a couple of guards to go to Castle Cerwyn and White Harbor to get some more troops, joining LF's host on her way back to camp. At least this way it wouldn't be just LF's annoying face stealing all the glory with his decisive cavalry charge, but Sansa and the Manderlys would be at his side too. I think the issue with a trip to Castle Cerwyn is how close it is to Winterfell. Heading there from Stannis' camp would have taken Sansa straight past the place she should be actively avoiding, unless she went out of her way to go far around it. The problem then becomes that Jon could have been right and she could get caught in a terrible storm. I agree that it would obviously be nice to have more men but I do like the in-fighting between Sansa and Jon. Neither really know how this whole thing should proceed and I loved how their argument was coupled with the soldiers and Davos fighting behind them.

Well said lordcarson ! It's taken me some time to adjust to the very subtle changes in Jon Snow since his resurrection, and honestly I think we all needed a little more dialogue between him, Davos, Sansa and Melisandre about the issue. They've glossed over it and I think that's my biggest area of confusion. It was a really big deal but it's being downplayed and I realize it's mostly because of the immediate emergency of the battle ahead but still, just a bit more could have done a lot to help the audience understand his feelings. I never expected Jon to come back a superhero or even like Beric. I guess I expected him to be a lot harder and angrier but not depressed/sad and almost suicidal. That's unexpected for me. Not bad, mind you, just different. I too look forward to hearing he and Melisandre talk. It's long overdue. Yeah, I actually quite like it. We've seen plenty of forms of hard and angry characters. Cleganes, Tywin, Roose and Ramsay, Drogo. We've never seen a character who so badly wants to be dead and I think that's what has made me so interested in Jon this season. In a world where its so difficult to survive and people have been forced to do terrible things, Jon just wants to give up but is hanging on for the people who finally want his help and I love how it's tearing him apart internally. It just adds another dimension to what Jon has gone through all his life. He's always been treated differently because he was a bastard but he put up with it and once he was supposed to be respected, he was murdered. He had a chance to finally be something and he's realized he might never have really wanted it. It's intriguing.

I think this single line from Jon to Melisandre can clear up some of the problems people have had with his "lack of change" after his resurrection. Unlike Beric, who thinks he has come back so many times for a greater purpose, Jon just wants to be dead. He worked so hard to help so many people and do what he could for the wildlings and the Watch and his friends, but he couldn't please everyone. He would be so much happier living on his own in peace (which very likely could have resulted in him taking his own life at the first opportunity), but the one group he hasn't been able to try to help needs him now. His goddamn family. We've seen him fight with Sansa about it and practically do the bare minimum to help, but I think its clear that its all a charade. He's helping her because he does love her and Rickon and the Stark name, but he's hiding the fact that he would have been much happier in death and only revealing it to the woman who brought him back and is just as depressed as he is. I know there have been jokes about Jon being whiny and sad all the time, but I don't think he truly has been until now. Every change we've seen in him has been subtle, but carefully watching every scene shows just the changes in his body language. He's more open, less bogged down by the cape and that's because he no longer has any regard for his safety. He's speaking up more often because he's learned that quietly doing what he thinks is right with the support of a few friends didn't work. He's never going to be the bloodthirsty, ruthless leader that some want him to be because that's not who Jon Snow is. But he is now thinking more about himself, yet not his own safety. He wants to help Sansa because he is a Stark deep down, but he wants to get this battle over with and has no fear of death. Looking back on it, the subtlety of the changes in him are done quite well and his request to stay dead this time really illustrates that.
Hopefully that was coherent. I can't fucking wait to hear the full conversation between Jon and Mel. She's been kind of marginalized this season, but this one scene will hopefully show the tragically beautiful connection they now share between life and death. The battle looks amazing but I think I'm most intrigued to see how this discussion between them plays out.

Looks stunning, but I'm really just here for TESVI news at this point... someone tell me if there is a chance I would say late 2017 at the very very earliest. They'll ride Fallout 4 and try to light a fire under ESO as long as possible. But the fact that Skyrim is getting remastered is good enough news anyway! At least they're doing something with TES at this point, that must be a good sign right?

So if I remember correctly, milk of the poppy is a painkiller in addition to anesthesia right? I think it's totally possible that it numbed Arya's pain and allowed her to get the initial push to escape. After that, the adrenaline of having her life on the line kept her going no matter how much she was hurting (which she absolutely was). It was a little hard to believe at first, but a combination of stitching and a painkiller makes it acceptable.

Guys. I don't know shit about the rest of the season. I don't WANT to know if, when, or how fucking Loras will show up again. Please and thanks. Or else I'll just have to stay out of every thread until season ends. It's not hard.

Careful with spoilers. I had to edit your post. I don't think it's a spoiler anymore. Qyburn and Cersei basically confirmed it this episode and they said Loras was going to stand trial alongside Cersei. I vote for letting that stand, we all know Cersei's going to fuck shit up now. I vote for not. If Al thinks it needs to be covered, then it absolutely should stay covered. I'd rather not have anything ruined for me, thanks. @alcasinoroyale pls don't uncover pls pls pls

Well I guess I'm the only one who liked the scene with Tyrion, Grey Worm, and Missandei. I thought it was well done and far better than the first one. I like that they're becoming characters instead of brick walls.
