^ Was just going to post it. It looks okay. I liked that it look different from the original. Also, glad that Disney was doing something right in that particular regard lol. But it looks too much like any other Chinese historical drama films and the Wuxia genre. I feel like many native Chinese and some other groups won't be interest in the movie because of this. They did a massive mistake of removing the musicals and Mushu. Edit: this is quite interesting

When DaveyJoe got into Goblin Slayer before Berserk. I'm somewhat familiar with Berserk but I haven't watched it because the opinions seem to be very mixed among anime fans. I've read that the animation is very poor and the crew/director are inexperienced and couldn't handle such an ambitious project so the series failed to live up to the manga. So I've been for hoping for a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood situation where the show gets redone in a more satisfactory way. However, I've read that Dark Souls, my favorite video game series, is heavily influenced by Berserk so I like to think a Berserk anime would be right up my alley if done properly. The thing with Berserk is that it's almost virtually impossible to capture the spirit of the original manga regardless whether it can have a Brotherhood method. Yes it could follow the story faithfully, but you will be missing out the fantastic artwork that Kentaro Miura put his hard work into and several arcs that is important to the character, but the anime will likely skip those in favor to sticking to the main story. In addition, the manga is not even finished. Kentaro Miura has been working on the series since 1991 and it hasn't reach the climax yet due to hiatuses and all. It's not extreme as GRRM with Asoiaf because it at least made some progress every year and Miura is only around 50 years old, but to say you can wait for a proper anime adaptation would be too naive. The trilogy films are okay, not as bad as the 2016 and 2017 sequels. The 90s anime is very good; animation is slightly outdated but it captures the spirit of the greatest arc. But at the end of the day, you are better off reading the manga (physical volumes are available in the West). I know I sound like those annoying "read the book" fans, but trust me once you read them you will know how much you are missing out on Berserk and understand why it cannot be properly adopted to an anime

Me and my friend wanted to go see Midsommar, but the theatre is strict with kids watching R rated films and they checked on IDs. So we ended up watching Spider-Man Far From Home. And all I can say is holy shit. You only have to be 17 to watch R rated films here in the States. Yeah, but she's 12.

Oh thank god this looks more promising than before.
The atmosphere and clothing reminds me of Vikings.

I feel like we should rename this thread to "Shit we eat" or something like that. There's more character development in these food posts than in seasons 7 and 8 combined. Davey revealing to like pickle pizza turns out to be subverted expectation.

I haven't finish reading the first book, but I'm still excited to see the movie since the crew look very promising (Denis Villeneuve, Hans Zimmer, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, etc). Part of me is hoping that the films series (if there's gonna be a sequel) become the new SW/GoT since it influenced both franchise. I believe the plan is for Villeneuve to direct two films based on the first book. I like thought provoking sci-fi more than the swashbuckling of the Star Wars films so that's what I'm hoping for here. Blade Runner was perhaps better than the original. Same except I haven't seen both the Blade Runner films yet.

Anyone excited for Dune (2020)? The hype must flow I've never read the books or seen the other adaptations, but every Villeneuve film I've seen has been great, so I'm looking forward to it. Pickling is a method of preserving. Thats a gherkin pizza. edit: which, eww, gross I love vinegar and savory foods so pickles are one of my favorite snacks. In Maryland we put vinegar on our French fries. If you're ever in Maryland check out Trashers fries in the boardwalk. Mmm that fries looks delicious.

Shouldn't we bring this to Confessions since we were off the rail? So is that a no on the pickle pizza? Pickle pizza sounds good. Rather take this other Hawaiian pizza haha.

Granted it’s not great as the original, but at least it was decent compared to the previous two films.
Hayden is better in some scenes where he shows the emotions well.
Except that particular scene. Fuck that.

TS4 spoilers. In TS2, Buzz was capable of making decisions as a leader without Woody since he was the one to plan the mission to rescue him. But here, he has no reason to become dumb as it doesn’t serve the narration and became off character.
Also, there are some people who are blaming Bonnie for not keeping Andy’s promise on keeping Woody and it destroy the third film’s plot point. I find it silly because Bonnie is a kid - kids like her don’t keep promises easily lol. She’s not Andy. She’s the type who don’t cling onto one toy or the nostalgia for it. Kinda like Woody in his character development. He sticks to Bonnie cause she reminds him of Andy, but once he come to the realization about toys’ own consciousness, he come to make decisions for himself which is totally new and different than before.

The real question is we should be asking is why is it called Hawaiian Pizza (pineapple and ham on pizza but nothing Hawaiian related)? 🤔
I’m on anti-pineapple pizza fence, but only cause I don’t like pineapple in general. Lol
