I love watching the show with my friend who knows nothing about what is going to happen lol. I can't wait to see his reaction to certain things.
I saw GRRM say he prefers Viserys in the show compared to how he wrote him, similar to Shae.

DOTA came out with an anime last year and I found it really good. I'm not sure if I'm biased by having 5,100 hours in the game but I showed it to a friend who has never played it and he loved it too. It's your typical fantasy anime setting but it turns some tropes on it's head - the Knight maybe isn't the most noble or brave, the Princess isn't the sweet innocent lady etc. The second season went a bit crazy and I loved it. It struggles a bit from pacing due to episode length constraints from Netflix. But I'd recommend it Some good voice actors too - Lara Pulver (Irene Adler from Sherlock), Troy Baker, Tony Todd, Yuri Lowenthal. Animated by Studio Mir (who did Legend of Korra)

I mean, the games are pretty cheesy too, that's one of the things I love about them. The trailer does look super trashy though, so I don't have too much confidence. I think Avan Jogia is pretty great, he's crazy charismatic and I absolutely loved him in Now Apocalypse (still not over the fact that that show got canceled after just one season 😔). He doesn't look like Leon from the games obviously, but from the types of characters he usually plays, I definitely see him more as Leon than Carlos. At least the 'Jill sandwich' line won't be too out of place if the acting is as it seems .
I have to wonder what Mr X will look like.
I've never seen Jogia act, so holding out hope - but the physical similarities to Carlos are there lol. I just hope they make the sets as much of a character (much like how Parasite does with the house) as they are in the games. The Mansion in RE1 is by far the spookiest setting of any RE game I've played (on 5 now) despite being the most graphically restricted.
I like Neal McDonough, so it'll be interesting to see him as Dr Birkin.

I only recently started playing the Resident Evil games a few months ago, but this movie seems crazily cheesy. From what I can see, it's essentially RE1+2 as a single movie. From what I've read, it intends to be faithful to the game plot but the acting just seems so cheesy. Also who the fuck cast Leon? Looks more like Carlos wtf is this shit lmao

Yeah, I appreciate the fact that they're trying to be faithful, but it's hard to improve something that's all ready great. I have a feeling fans will rip these adaptations apart. me when i get a new colleague on my team

Anyone else watching/watched Squid Game? I'm 5 episodes in. It's so gripping, the show really knows how to build tension. The fucking cliffhangers the episodes do are so annoyingly brilliant.
I'd say it's a mix between Hunger Games and Black Mirror; especially the Fifteen Million Merits episode.

I'm sad to see Jeff go! He was the face of Overwatch.. I'm not sure if it bodes well for Blizzard with their long term, top talent ditching.. Hopefully Warchief Gaming (the new studio Metzen and Co have set up) does well. ----- NieR Replicant remaster came out last week. I can now firmly say NieR is my favourite gaming series of all time. Yoko Taro has such a way with telling a story, writing the ending first and working his way back, and giving you difficult, heart-wrenching choices. Having played Automata first, I was spoiled somewhat as some characters make an appearance and tell you their backstory, but other than that it was nothing but amazing. The OST is sublime, the side quests are rewarding and the main story is interesting and gut-wrenching at times. I imagine these characters will stick with me much like the characters in Automata did. It's crazy that this series spawned from the joke ending of another game (Drakengard) and is as good as it is. The only downside is the repetitiveness. To get all endings, you have to play the second half of the game 4 times (once you compete all side quests you care about, you can just speed run through the dungeons). Automata somewhat fixed that problem of the series by letting you load into certain points you've previously played. Usually the first and second playthroughs of the same content are rewarding - where you get a different perspective, or unlock some (like understanding a new language and getting to hear previously unknown dialogue in a cutscene)new dialogue. Third and fourth I just button mashed since I had seen it before until I got to the new endings. Highly recommend the series (Replicant or Automata) to anyone who likes RPGs. I also love this quote from Yoko Taro (about the world post 9/11 and Iraq War) regarding why he makes this series in such a way - "The vibe I was getting from society was: you don’t have to be insane to kill someone. You just have to think you’re right. So that’s why I made Nier a game revolving around this concept of “being able to kill others if you think you’re right,” or “everyone believes that they’re in the right." I would link my actual favourite song from the OST, but it, annoyingly, has a very spoilery name. So I'll link this instead.

I started playing Elder Scrolls Online and it's pretty fun. The combat is pretty unique, reminds me a bit of Guild Wars 2 with spells tied to weapons, and I'm having a blast exploring everywhere. A big drawback of a low of MMOs is the writing, but ESO seems to have it down. I hope it isn't at the expense of the end game content though. The monetization model is pretty interesting as well, you get your sub price back in the premium currency every month.

A new game in the Octopath world was announced last night. Looks like a mix of Octopath and Fire Emblem. I'm so hyped. There's a demo out atm for anyone who likes these types of games (and owns a Switch).
They said decisions will actually affect the story, so here's hoping it's more like 3 Houses and not like TellTale games.

I'm reviving this thread, lol. I watched Attack on Titan season 1 years ago but when season 2 came out, I just never watched it. Since the show is ending, I decided to rewatch season 1 and am now almost done season 2 (10 episodes in). I completely regret not watching it fully before. I'm so glad I rewatched season 1, there was so much I forgot. Season 2 is a bit nuts, since every other character is secretly a Titan now lol and the trailer spoiled so much.. like how there are Titans protecting the humans from other Titans. I'm 10 episodes in and this still hasn't been revealed, but was in the trailer.
