Stannis not getting killed by Brienne of fucking Tarth / Brienne Ex Machina / Brienne the Inconvenient Bitch and certainly no Renly revenges.
Roose flaying Ramsay alive.

I'm looking forward to the battle of Winterfell more than ever now, because I know it will be better than the show's version.
Though whose point of view are we getting for that? Didn't GRRM say there will be no new POVs (outside of prologue/epilogue) in the final two books? So will we see it through Asha's eyes?

Obviously the #1 thing is Jon's resurrection.
In the show they are setting up an alliance with Jon and the Wildlings to fight the WW. This is something the books really haven't divulged yet much into but you have to think it's "end-game" enough to have in the story. Curious to see how this unfolds in TWOW.

I don't think it will actually be as exciting as various ASOIAF reddit theorists think it will be. Unlike say the Battle of Blackwater or the upcoming Battle of Fire in Meereen which both have characters in many different locations and on different sides throughout the battle, it'll be very limited in who's seeing it. Theon's still gonna be chained up during it so I doubt he could offer much perspective on it and I don't think Asha will just stand by and watch the battle going down.

It seems likely he'll defeat the Frey host but there're still a ton of troops left in WF and the Pink Letter says they fought for days (what was it, nine or something?) So he'll do well to begin with, I agree but I don't think he'll be able to keep that up.

I still think Pink Letter is false.

It's a little morbid to say this, but I'm kind of looking forward to Sweetrobin getting off'd, just because I feel like it's coming and I want to see how Littlefinger achieves this.

Broad strokes *major spoilers* we know will happen in TWOW (or ADOS), compliments of the show:
#1 - Jon is either resurrected or he didn't die at the end ADWD #2 - Stannis is going to perish. Either in the BoI or something shortly after. #3 - Shireen will be sacrificed #4 - Hodor's origin has to do with "Hold the Door" from his past, although it could play out differently. #5 - The Starks will reclaim Winterfell #6 - The Children created the Night King.

I'm super interested to see how the Davos/Rickon/Osha bit will play out in the novel. Can't see Ramsay killing Rickon but who knows

I'm super interested to see how the Davos/Rickon/Osha bit will play out in the novel. Can't see Ramsay killing Rickon but who knows I don't see Rickon interacting with Ramsay at all. If he does die (and that is a huge IF, because I don't think it is likely) I hint it will be as a result of some kind of power play in the North (various factions vying to put their chosen Stark in Winterfell I mean). Like I say though, I don't think he will die. I am looking forward to seeing Skagos though.

Whatever Euron's up to. Now that the Boltons are pretty much doomed, Euron is rapidly becoming my favorite character in the books.

Unless by the time Davos gets to Skagos, Rickon and Osha are already dead but I highly doubt that. I think he's going to have a hard time convincing Osha to bring Rickon back to Westeros though. GRRM is going to want to have the Stark line continue, if Bran really cannot have children, than that's Rickon's purpose but we'll never find out unless he does a post script in the future in the last book.

Y'all are giving me hope. I've always thought Rickon would live but the show definitely gave me doubts

I think it's really unlikely that such character as the NK exists in the books. He's just there in the show to give the WW a leader figure, a face.

You may be right. He said this "As for the Night's King (the form I prefer), in the books he is a legendary figure, akin to Lann the Clever and Brandon the Builder, and no more likely to have survived to the present day than they have."
So I guess we'll see.

Stannis winning the battle of Ice. I'm not even sure whether Snowbowl is going to happen in the books tbh.
